Now that we’re in the second week of August I’m starting to experience the same sadness I did as a kid when the summer was wrapping up and it was time to go back to school. Only instead of school, I’m getting ready to go back to work after almost 7 months off!
I don’t go back for another month, but now that the weeks are in the single digits and within reach, I’m sad. I love my job and I’m actually only going back part-time so I kind of get the best of both worlds.
Anyway…
I wore this dress a couple months ago to a fun fashion show in Newport. It’s the perfect summer maxi that’s effortless in that it doesn’t need much, but still dressy enough for an event. And it’s one of those rare off-the-shoulder pieces that actually stays put. I can’t tell you how many times I wear something OTS and spend the whole time adjusting it – not fun.
I’ve been loving the block heel trend this summer. Honestly, high heels are no longer practical for my every day life so I pretty much stopped buying them. These are a great alternative and can also be dressed up or down. Plus I’m a sucker for a nude heel.
