Another month has ended and this one on a particularly low note. I don’t have the words to summarize how I feel about everything going on in the world right now, but I know staying silent is not the answer. We can’t be neutral. If you’re ignoring what’s happening, you’re part of the problem. I can be so hard to speak out when you’re not sure what to say or how to say it. Especially on a topic as big as racism.
I do know that it starts within the four walls of our home. We have to talk about topics like these with our children and teach them that these acts are NOT ok. “Not being a racist” is no longer enough, we need to be “anti-racist.” We have to do better.
