June Top 5

July 6, 2020 by ashadmin No Comments

I can’t believe the year is halfway over! June seemed to fly by even fast than the past few months. June’s top sellers were clothing, baby products and baby clothes – no home items I think for the first time.

Let’s get to it!

U-neck tank

For the second month in a row this was my top seller. It’s still my most worn top (I have it in 3 colors). It sells out often but they’ve restocked it a few times so keep checking if you want to snag one.

Nuna Rava car seat

We’ve had Crosby in this convertible car seat for almost two years and just graduated Wilder to it as well. It’s really well made, comfortable and easy to get them in and out of. I have them both rear facing and sitting side by side.

Steve Madden studded sandals

I love these sandals! They’re so fun for summer and seem to go with everything. I have them in clear but they come in a few other colors and are pretty comfortable.

Target shorts

I bought these in the middle of June and have worn them several times already. They’re an excellent price point (currently on sale!), high-waisted, comfortable and come in a few other colors too. I was on a quest to find some everyday shorts that were different from my denim cutoffs and have been so happy with these.

Toddler boy shirt

I bought this for Wilder to wear on the 4th of July (with this matching dress for Crosby) and shared on my IG stories. It was a big hit and pretty much sold out. I can’t resist matching outfits for siblings – and will take advantage of it until they won’t do it anymore.

Hope you had a safe and happy 4th of July – thank you so much for reading and following!

Amazon Summer Favorites

June 30, 2020 by ashadmin No Comments

It’s officially my summer, my favorite season! We’ve had a lot of June gloom the past few weeks, but I’m hoping most of that is behind us. I recently cleaned out my closet and found a pair of sunglasses I thought I lost last summer. I purchased this pair over a year ago on Amazon for under $20 and have loved them so much. I recently found another pair with a slightly different shape that I’ve been wearing non-stop the past few weeks. It got me thinking about some of my other summer favorites, and how they’re all from Amazon.

Sunglasses

Like I mentioned, I have two pairs (here and here). Both are under $20, comfortable to wear and look like they cost a lot more. I’ve had several friends purchase them too and everyone has said how impressed they are with the quality.

Sunglasses chains

This is a trend I got into last summer – I purchased this set and wore them all the time. This year I wanted a sea shell chain and found this one. I got it last week and love the dainty touch it adds. It’s like having a necklace that serves a purpose and holds your sunglasses.

Sunglasses case

While we’re hot on the topic of sunglasses I need to mention this case. I originally thought it would be great for travel, a beach or desert vacation when I want to bring a few pairs of sunglasses. Since I haven’t been traveling this year I’ve used it as sunglasses storage and love how easy it is to keep organized. It rolls up to a pretty compact size and holds six pairs.

Fold up visor

I hopped on the visor trend a few years ago and have been all about them ever since. I love this one – it protects my face from the sun, rolls up which makes it easy to toss it in your tote or suitcase… but the best part about a visor is you can wear your hair up!

Clear tote

When it comes to trends I always think it’s better to test drive them and purchase something cheaper instead of diving right in to a more expensive designer piece. I found this tote last summer and loved that is was $20,  but was similar to more expensive versions. It’s a fun bag to use in the day – to brunch, lunch, the beach, pool, etc.

Palm print kimono

This has been a summer staple for me for the past few years. It’s such a fun print – definitely statement making. I wear it over swimsuits all the time and instantly feel like I’m somewhere tropical on vacation.

Denim Short Guide

June 29, 2020 by ashadmin No Comments

My #1 summer staple is always a good pair of denim shorts. I wear them almost every single day when it’s hot, so I need a couple of pairs to get me through the season. Recently I’ve been searching for a new go-to pair and have gone through a few rounds of online orders so I thought I’d share my research with you with my denim short guide.

For reference I normally wear a 24/25 or a 0. Here’s the link to the bodysuit I’m wearing.

Agolde Parker (vintage wash // non distressed wash)

I first purchased this pair back in February and have worn them quite a bit since. I am obsessed with the wash, minimal distressing and fit but wish they were a little bit longer. I’ve found this particular style to run large so I sized down one size to a 23. They’re slightly high waisted (hit right about the belly button) and by far my most worn shorts.

Since I love this style so much I wanted to try them out in a non-distressed wash. I ordered this pair and decided to size up to my normal size in hopes they’d be a little longer. The length is about the same as my other pair, but since I went with my normal size (24) they’re not as high waisted and hit a lot lower.

Abercrombie Mom Shorts

I haven’t shopped at Abercrombie in years but stumbled upon this pair while online shopping. They had great reviews so I decided to order a pair in a few different sizes and see how they fit. Since Abercrombie has always been geared towards teens I ordered them in a size 25 and 26. The 25’s fit perfectly and I was actually really surprised with how much I liked them. My only qualm is they’re more heavily distressed than I was wanting. And since the color is so similar to my Agolde’s I don’t think I’ll be keeping them. But since I like them so much I’ll be ordering them in white.

Agolde Dee

I was really curious about this style because they’re a higher rise with a longer inseam. I thought they’d be a good everyday “mom” short. I ordered them in a 24 and they’re a little too tight. I would recommend sizing up. I also didn’t love this length on me. I think they’d be more flattering on someone taller (I’m 5’4).

Levis 501 High Rise

I purchased this pair last summer and sized up to a 26 since I was a couple months postpartum. They run small and have little to no stretch; they were a little too tight last year but fit great this year. For some reason the denim is a lot stiffer than the Agoldes and they’re not as comfortable… but they don’t stretch out between wears and really hold their shape.

Toddler/Baby 14 Month Favorites

June 23, 2020 by ashadmin No Comments

It seems like just yesterday Wilder was born and I was trying to navigate a toddler and a newborn. Now I’m juggling two toddlers and time is seriously flying. Wilder is 14 months old, but honestly he seems like more of a baby than a toddler. Maybe it’s because he’s the youngest, but I’m not really in a hurry for him to grow up. Today I want to share our favorite toys and things at this age.

Learning Walker – we got this when Crosby was a baby but really didn’t use it that much. All kids are different and since Wilder isn’t walking on his own yet, this has gotten a TON of use, it’s probably his most used toy. He can run with it and can navigate it so well.

Push Car – up until recently this was my favorite way to keep Wilder contained in our backyard. He was perfectly content with being pushed around in it for so long, which was nice for me to have while chasing after Crosby too.

Cozy Coupe Car – this is now Wilder’s favorite car to play with in our backyard. He absolutely loves pushing it around and basically uses it as a walker. Crosby loves to ride in it so it’s a nice way for them to collaborate and play together – she rides, he pushes.

Water Table – this was one of Wilder’s birthday gifts and it’s been used almost every day since April. Both kids love playing with it – Crosby uses it as a baby doll bath and Wilder has so much fun splashing in it. It’s such a great toy for toddlers of all ages.

Mini Scooter – this is another hand-me-down from Crosby that Wilder is just started to get into. It’s the perfect tiny learning scooter that has a seat they can sit on when they’re first using it. Eventually the seat comes off and they can scoot on it.

Ride On Car – another toddler favorite, these cars are a great size and perfect for the baby to toddler transition.

Clothing

I love little boys in basics; t-shirts and cotton shorts are pretty much what Wilder wears every day. Here are my favorites:

T-shirts – Target has the best selection (and prices). Wilder has so many of these.

Shorts – we have a lot from Target and Old Navy.

Pajamas – I love Burts Bees baby pjs. These two piece sets are perfect for toddlers.

Native Shoes – the perfect toddler boy shoe; indestructible, water proof and protect their feet if they’re still crawling. I’ve found them to run a little small and would recommend sizing up.

Summer Sandals

June 17, 2020 by ashadmin No Comments

The past few months the only shoes I’ve really worn are sneakers and sandals, but my love for neutral shoes continues to grow. I’ve collected some new pairs that are so pretty and deserve to be shared whether or not they’re being worn.

similar espadrilles, buckle block heel, snake print block heel, raffia slides, clear studded

In the summer I like to have a shoe lineup ready to go. A pair of espadrilles, for a daytime event, block heels for nights (you won’t have to worry about sinking into the grass), flat slides and a fun pair of every day sandals that can be dressed up or down.

I don’t have anywhere to wear my dressy shoes this summer, but they’re classics I’ll keep for years to come.

Outdoor Updates

June 11, 2020 by ashadmin 2 Comments

Since we’ve been spending so much time outside during the stay at home period, we’ve finally worked on some finishing touches to bring the patio together. A couple of outdoor rugs, new throw pillows, another umbrella and finally having our tv installed have made a huge difference. Luckily the weather has been amazing so we can spend a lot outside. Jeff and I have especially loved sitting outside once the kids go to sleep at night.

I’ll link as much as I can below!
