I’m at that in between seasons point where I’m totally sick of all my summer clothes and want to jump ahead to fall even though it’s still hot here. The only way I can justify spending money on new things it’s if I’ll still want to wear them in six months. However, that’s a little tricky right now since I’m not sure what will still fit me then as I’ll be about to pop! I’ve been really gravitating towards tops lately because I feel that’s what I’m lacking wardrobe wise. I’m pulling all my favorites under $100 from Nordstrom and am having a hard time not buying them all… don’t kill me Jeff, I won’t. 🙂

And because it’s out in the open now, I might as well start a wish list for baby too. We actually found out the gender through a blood test last week. I got the call and then surprised Jeff with an outfit in the color #genderroles. We’re just keeping it between a small group right now but I’ll share it in a few weeks. The outfit I surprised him with is actually one below.

By the end of summer, the last thing I ever want to do is my hair. Unless it’s a special occasion, I’ve been air-drying it and extending the time between washes even more than I normally do. Which is great because it’s been taking a beating all summer long. Hats have been a huge savior with this and on our recent trip to Lake Tahoe I ended up packing three for the long weekend. The one I’m wearing is older and sold out but this one is practically identical!

Guess what?!

We’re so excited to announce that in March we’ll be a family of four (yes, I’m counting Macallan)! It’s been so hard not to spill the beans and I feel like I’ve been keeping this secret from all my best friends by not sharing it on here the past few months. Now that I’m 13 weeks I can’t wait to share this new journey with you all.

My first look from our long weekend in Lake Tahoe! We shot this at our hotel, Basecamp South Lake Tahoe, it was really the perfect hotel for us. Between the beautiful beer garden, fire pits where we could roast s’mores every night and the complimentary waffles at breakfast we felt right at home. I especially loved the relaxed vibe of the hotel – it was kind of like an upscale camp, just like the name suggests.

I’ve been holding on to this dress for a couple of months now and felt like Tahoe was the perfect place to debut it. I paired it with my denim jacket, which was a must on a chilly morning. I’d forgotten how cold it gets in the mountains and definitely needed extra layers up there! I’ve also been wearing a lot of hats lately because I’ve been so lazy with my hair.

This top may have been exactly what my closet’s been missing! It’s so soft and feminine so I had to edge is up a bit with these distressed jeans and choker. I’m all about balance 🙂 The blush color is perfect for late summer into fall and even winter, if you live somewhere mild like I do. I think it would look really chic and luxe tucked into a pair of wine colored velvet pants. I’m loving blush and wine together.
