One thing my mother instilled in me was to wash my face before bed every single night. This is so important! Our skin needs a break to breathe for hours at a time. And who wants to go to bed in the day’s makeup and wake up with a mess on your pillowcase? Ew.
That said, here is my favorite cleanser. It runs about $15 at Target or any drug store and lasts so long! It’s gentle and light but really does the job.
I know clarisonic brushes are all the rage these days but I’m keeping it old school (2008) with my Neutrogena microdermabrasion system I use this a few times a week before I shower and my skin feels soft and exfoliated after.
A good moisturizer is a must. At night I like something that is really powerful so my skin doesn’t dry out while I sleep, CeraVe, is my fav.
In the mornings, I opt for BB Cream with at least an SPF of 25. I’ve tried so many but Smashbox is my favorite. However, at almost $40 a bottle it’s a little pricey. Maybelline makes the best drugstore version and will only set you back about $8.
**I have purchased all of these products on my own. This is my opinion, I am not paid to promote these brands/products.
Now that it’s officially fall and the weather has cooled down a smidge, I feel like I can switch up my beauty routine and bring out some new products. So far this season, these are my favs.
eos lip balm: I’m a big chapstick person. HUGE. As in I don’t leave the house without it. These little eggs sooth my lips and seem to last forever.
MAC Strobe Cream: Just because summer’s over doesn’t mean shimmer has to stop. This is the perfect light moistuizer that I put on under makeup in the evening. In a subtle way, it really makes my skin sparkle.
essie “Sew Psyched”: The perfect green/gray shade that’s so perfect for fall. Even thought it’s green it’s such a neutral that goes with everything.
By now I’m sure you’ve all heard how big of a color burgundy is for fall, fashionistas are calling it “oxblood” but that doesn’t fly with me. Anyway, it’s literally the color of the season mostly because it’s become a slimming neutral that you can pretty much pair with anything. Sister colors maroon, bordeaux and crimson are also hot and right on point. I’ve never been much of a fan of these deep reds but now I’m jumping on the burgundy bandwagon!
Here are my wine colored picks.
I’ve mentioned before that my nails are always painted. I do them at least once a week and love to change it up. When seasons change, so should our polish choices. Here’s a collage I put together of my favorite fall nail color trends: metallic, neutral and bold.
