I’ve never been to the Kentucky Derby but I know I’d love it. While I’m not a big gambler or horse race enthusiast, I LOVE dressing up in a theme and the race track is the perfect place to do that! With the main event tomorrow I thought I’d give you some outfit ideas in case you’re going to a race, party or just want to look festive while sipping mint juleps by your lonesome.
I celebrated my 25th Birthday at Hollywood Park Race Track almost three years ago. I found the perfect vintage-looking off white lace dress at Forever 21 which inspired me to have the party at the track and I was thrilled my guests complied with the theme.

A few months back, we celebrated one of my best friend’s golden 28th Birthday at Santa Anita Race Track. She went with the Derby theme as well and everyone had a great time!
As you can see, I embraced color with my accessories both times. Because the race track has a playful vibe it’s a great place to try out a trend or a color you might not wear day-to-day.

I got the hat and scarf I tied around it on the boardwalk in Venice. It doubles as a sun hat and is great for traveling because it folds up nicely in suitcases and tote bags.
