In the second installment of my “Favorite Friday”, I thought I’d jump over to the east coast and the fab blog Girl Avant Garde. This blog chronicles Courtney’s style as she goes to law school and trots around Manhattan, but also shows off her skills in the kitchen and some fun DIY’s. When and why did you start blogging?
June 2012. I needed a creative outlet and a way to express my interests outside of school.
What’s the best thing blogging has brought to your life?
I’ve made so many friends from blogging and have been introduced to many new brands and opportunities. It’s opened my eyes to a whole new world!
How do you spend your weekends?
It depends on the time of year. In the summer I love to travel or relax at the beach and poolside. In the winter, I balance time with my family & friends, studying and blogging.
What’s your favorite color right this second?
Pink! (I’m definitely a girly girl.)
Favorite designer?
It always changes. I love Kate Spade, Miu Miu and Chanel.
Who would play you in a movie?
This is so hard! I’ve always wanted to be Emma Stone’s best friend, so she gets the part.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you “grew up”?
An actress.
Other than the essentials, what’s one thing you won’t leave the house without? Jewelry. I feel naked without it.
Advice to other bloggers?
Blog often and consistently. Find a style that works for you and stick with it. Also, be kind to everyone you come across.
