Happy Friday! Hope you have fun plans to look forward to this weekend, we’re supposed to get more record setting rain here today so naturally I’m flashing back to sunnier days last weekend. Jeff and I celebrated a relaxing little babymoon about an hour down the coast at The Hyatt Regency La Jolla. It was the perfect travel distance for me at over 8 months pregnant – no long car rides, no flights, no complaints. We were so spoiled all weekend, I want to go back and do it all over again!
After we checked in to the hotel we were treated to dinner at their cute restaurant Drift eat + drink (pictured here). The decor was so us… we loved the tiles, bar stools, pops of turquoise and all around design.
I’ve mentioned that I have gestational diabetes and eating out can be a challenge, but luckily I had no problems at Drift eat + drink. I ordered the large meatball with a side salad while Jeff went with the short ribs and a gin cocktail. I even got to have a few bites of the dessert – a Chocolate moose with a salted carmel. I savored every bite and my mouth is watering thinking about that.
Cheese plates are the way to my heart. And I was more than willing to dive into this surprise one that was sent to our room.
There were so many cute touches throughout our stay – like the adorable welcome gift for baby that Jeff says is the softest stuffed animal he’s ever felt. Can’t wait to bring her back here someday!
