Like I’ve said before, I love bright colors and prints so I was immediately drawn to this dress. Cutouts are a summer trend I’d been wanting to try out and finally found the perfect dress with a subtle cutout in the back. I think I practically glowed in the dark when the sun went down… and I loved every second of it!
In the summer I love slipping on a light weight maxi dress. They are so versatile; you can take them from the beach to the mall to dinner and beyond. When it cools down in the evenings I usually add a blazer or denim jacket. I’ve been seeing so many cute options this year that really embrace the seasons trends: cut outs, bold colors, zig-zag prints, etc. Below are four options that will take you through the end of the season.
1. asos $45.57
2. asos $23.20
3. wallis $44
I’ve been really into floral headpieces for awhile and was so happy when I found this one! I wore it to my birthday party a few weeks ago and loved that it made me feel like a bohemian fairy. I’ve been dying to wear it again and when I put this dress on the other day I knew it would compliment it perfectly.
My next project might be a DIY floral piece – it would be so simple to make.
*please excuse the leftover 4th of july nails.
I spent 4th of July in Orange County and it was so gloomy and cold it felt like June Gloom a month late. I was determined to wear my shorts but layered a sweater over my tank before going to a bbq at the beach. Luckily, even though the sun never really came out it warmed up enough to be comfortable in my layered patriotic outfit.

I’ve always felt like summer is the perfect time to take chances with style. Whether it be a new haircut or lipstick or maybe bold colors or prints that you wouldn’t normally wear, summer is the best time to test out a new trend. Enter graphic dresses. I’m never one to shy away from prints and a graphic dress is something I need to get wear before Labor Day.
