Since buying my first home almost a year ago, Apartment Therapy has become one of my favorite sources for decorating inspiration.  I love scrolling through real people’s beautiful  home tours and almost always discover  a way to improve my current space.

I’ve always loved this color combo, it’s fresh and bright and reminds me of watermelon and summer which is perfect because we’re in the middle of a heat wave right now.  This dress was a recent Target find.  I like how it has a subtle high-low hem but is long enough to be work appropriate… especially when I add a cardigan.

I put two simple braids in my hair, then pulled them across my head and secured them with bobby pins for a braided headband look.  It could not have been easier.

I work in the entertainment industry and come face-to-face with celebrities on a daily basis so I don’t get “starstruck” often.  There are only a handful of celebs still living I’d go crazy to meet and my top two are Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.  I feel like I grew up with the twins and often refer to myself as the Olsen triplet, even though I’m two years older and about two inches taller.  And yeah, I share a name with Ash so I guess it would be weird for us to be sisters.

My fav era of Olsen is around mid 2004 when they first moved to NYC and showed up everywhere.  I absolutely adored their style and “I don’t give a F” attitude, which was apparent because they often accessorised with a Vente Starbucks cup.  The girls were attending NYU and accepting every invitation in town, so were photographed all the time.

I totally miss these days and find myself wanting to photoshop myself into every single shot.

The past few months I’ve been obsessed with the high-low trend in skirts and maxi dresses and have seen so many cute options out there.  I can’t seem to stop buying them!

This black skirt is a staple that I know will carry over into the warmer months.

Do you Pinterest?  I love Pinterest.  Absolutely LOVE it.  It’s such a great space for inspiration filled with glossy pics of dreams, ideas, recipes, etc.  I’ve recreated a few ideas on there, but for the most part I find myself mindlessly pinning pretty pics that I’ll never do anything with.  Newborn baby nuzzled in a cozy knitted cocoon?  Check!  Yummy looking pancake casserole with homemade maple glaze?  Also guilty… and that’s just embarrassing.

Now I’d rather do community service at a men’s prison in a bikini than go to Coachella, but I love seeing pictures of the celebrities who attended.

There are the people you expect to be there, the randoms, and then the people who just stick out so much it’s ridiculous.

Their fashion is another thing.  Most of these people pay their stylists to make them look so hipster you’d think they slept in their clothing in a pool of Pabst Blue Ribbon.

It’s just awesome.
