This dress is the perfect fall transition piece because the colors are perfect for this time of year. We spent the weekend in Solvang for a wedding and the weather was all over the place – really hot during the day but cold in the mornings and night. I threw a denim jacket over this for the evening and stayed warm by the heat lamps.
First off, let me apologize for being MIA this week. I went back to work Monday after a two week break and am now elbows deep in Award’s Season. It began Wednesday with the People’s Choice Awards but really kicks off this weekend with the Golden Globes. Then, we have back to back awards shows the next few weekends. It’s crazy and busy but a lot of fun! I’m hoping to be back to posting on my regular schedule next week.
This is the other J. Crew tee I was telling you about in this post. I loved the blues and grays in this camo print and glamed it up with more feminine details. I love masculine tops paired with statement necklaces, skirts or a big ear and leather. Speaking of, how amaze is this metallic leather skirt? It’s not going to happen over night, or even consistantly for a few months, but fall is coming. Instead of waking up to the chilly air one morning and scrounging through your old fall and winter clothes looking for something cute to wear, why not do a quick closet update with pieces you know you will use until it’s 75 and sunny again?
Here are my 4 fall must haves.
leather motorcycle jacket: Unless you’re rolling in the dough, it’s hard to find an affordable leather moto jacket that looks good. This quilted number may be faux leather but it is well crafted and will still hold it’s own next to even your chicest pieces. continue reading
I was so excited to take these pics. But once I saw them I was like, “ughhh.” It was the wrong time of day with the sun shinning directly over my head turning the best setting into not the best set of photos. So, while most of them will never see the light of day I’m moving forward with a few… there’s always next time Balboa Island. Sometimes I feel like it’s my first time doing this.
Side note – how well do the colors in my outfit blend into the setting? It’s like I think I’m hunting seagulls or something. continue reading
