Walmart Next Day Delivery

August 28, 2019 by ashadmin No Comments

Loading two kids in and out of the car running errands is so exhausting. I’ve learned to be really choosy about the errands we run. One thing I learned from motherhood early on, was to do any hack to make it easier. My #1 tip is Walmart’s Next Day Delivery. I really don’t know how anyone was a mom before 2019 when you an get just about anything delivered to your doorstep.

Last week after we got back from Palm Springs I noticed we were really low on diapers for Wilder and I was just about out of my favorite deodorant. Instead of shlepping the kids to the store during witching hour I took five minutes during Crosby’s nap, ordered them on Walmart and had them at my front door less than 24 hours later.

There is seriously nothing better. I plan my errands around Crosby’s nap schedule and really prioritize which ones I want to run with the kids… anything we don’t get to, or I don’t want to do with the kids I turn to Walmart. It’s such a life saver.

Details on Walmart Next Day Delivery:

  • Free, no extra cost, sign up or membership fee.
  • Free with order of $35 or more on Next Day eligible items.
  • Available Monday through Friday, cut off times vary by zip code.
  • If you enter “Next Day” Mode on your phone you can see everything that’s available for Next Day shipping.

My most frequently purchased for Next Day delivery:

diapers

formula

bottles – these are what I use with Wilder

baby wipes

laundry detergent

deodorant

white onesies for Wilder (he’s growing so fast and these are my favorite)

toothpaste

Other Tips:

Next Day delivery would also be helpful if you have school-aged kids and need supplies/something for a project.

It’s great if you’re planning a party, so many cute decorations are available for Next Day delivery.

If you’re packing for a vacation and notice you’re low on travel sized toiletries, it saves you a trip to the store.

on me: t-shirt, similar jeans

on Wilder: onesie

deodorant, diapers

Four Months With Wilder

August 12, 2019 by ashadmin No Comments

Wilder is four months old as of Saturday which means we still have eight months of eating a large pizza every month, sorry Jeff! I actually found the pizza idea on Pinterest when I was pregnant and thought it would be a cute way to document his monthly photos. So far it’s been really fun to see how much bigger he’s getting in the pizza box… I have a feeling it’s going to get a lot more challenging to photograph him in it as he gets more mobile.

Speaking of, last week he started rolling from his back to front. He’s been rolling from front to back since he was one month old, so now he can fully roll. I’ll put him on his play mat and the next thing I know he’s rolling all over the place. I can’t remember when Crosby started doing this but I feel like it was around the same time.

He’s still such a good/mellow baby. And so easy to get a smile out of. He loves watching his crazy sister and probably can’t wait to be doing whatever she’s doing. He totally goes with the flow and naps wherever, I’ve never been strict about a nap schedule this early and I think it makes them more adaptable. At least for now.

He’s over 13 pounds now which feels big, but I think he’s right on track. We go to the doctor later this week and she’ll give us her percentiles. Crosby was super tiny and didn’t weigh 13 pounds until she was like eight months old. He’s up to a size 2 in Bambo Nature diapers now and wearing 0-3 or 3-6 months clothes.

Crosby’s 18-Month Update

September 14, 2018 by ashadmin No Comments

Crosby is 18 months old today. A year and a half! I was actually just talking with a friend about when you stop saying your baby is X months old and I think it should be around now. For the next few months I’ll try to say she’s 1.5 and then as her Birthday gets closer I can say she’s almost two. Anyway, I’ve been getting a lot of questions about her schedule and what not on social media so I thought I’d put it in a post.

Every day for us is a little different but here’s what a “typical” day looks like:

7:30-8 am – wake up and eat breakfast

Breakfast is usually fruit and cereal or yogurt

8:30-9:30 ish – I put on music and she plays in the living room

9:30 – I get us both ready for the day

10 – we head out on a morning errand or walk. (Once a week the schedule is shifted slightly for her morning gym class.)

11:30 – lunch

Something like mac and cheese, strawberries, cherry tomatoes, etc.

12 – bottle and nap

She still takes 2 bottles a day with toddler formula. This was recommended by our pediatrician because she’s so petite.

2:30ish – snack and read a few books, then independent play time or we head out again

5:30 – dinner

Dinners vary… sometimes she eats what we eat, other times she has leftovers, etc. She’s not the best eater and we’re working on not throwing food. Ugh.

6:30 – playtime, read books

7 – bath

7:30 bottle, brush teeth, bed.

A few weeks ago she was going through a sleep regression/teething/growth spurt was sleeping terribly. She was even trying to climb out of her crib. For now she seems to be back on track and I hope I’m not jinxing it by saying that.

Some products we’re loving:

We are still using Bambo Nature diapers. They’re honestly the best. Rarely leak, comfortable and we love that they’re eco-friendly.

Over the last month we switched to a convertible car seat and went with the Nuna Rava. I was a little worried about how Crosby would take to the transition, but there’s been no problems. Super safe and comfortable seat.

Freshly Picked Moccasins are still my favorite shoes for her. We love the mini-sole collection for when she’s running around at the park or in the back yard. They stay on so well and seem really comfortable.

I talked about our strollers here and favorite toys here.

Hope you have a great weekend – thanks for reading!

What’s in My Diaper Bag Now

A few months ago I shared a similar post about what I keep in my diaper bag. At the time I had an eight week old and was just getting the hang of taking her out and about.

Crosby’s Five Month Favorites

August 14, 2017 by ashadmin 2 Comments

top knots turban c/o, splendid romper (old / similar), freshly picked moccasins c/o

Crosby is five months old today! It’s crazy how fast it’s going – we’re trying to savor every minute while she’s still this small but she’s changing every day. This month she’s starting interacting with us much more and has finally started to notice and pet Mackie. I can’t wait to see their relationship develop.
