Mommy and Me Leopard Looks

November 14, 2018 by ashadmin No Comments

I’m still wrapping my head around the fact that Thanksgiving is a week from tomorrow. It seems like once Halloween passes, everything else moves at hyper speed til the New Year. Don’t blink! I put these leopard mother daughter outfits together in mind for more Thanksgiving outfit inspiration. If you live some place cooler, you could wear tights or over-the-knee boots instead of booties with my outfit to keep warm.

on me: hat, dress, necklace c/o, cardigan c/o, similar booties

on Crosby: sweatshirt (similar), pants, shoes c/o

I’ve worn this leopard cardigan before (seen here with shorts), but I really love how it’s something that can work all year round. Leopard is such a great neutral, it can really be worn with so many different colors. I paired it with this velvet shift dress that’s not maternity and only $13… it also comes in black.

I’ve loved seeing newsboy hats on other people and finally decided to buy one. I got this one for $30 and at first I couldn’t figure out how to wear it. It was poufed up over the brim and sat really high. Jeff said I looked like Dee from Clueless. I finally figured out I had to just squish it down. Now I love it! This one is chenille, which is perfect for fall and winter.

Crosby’s sweatshirt says it’s a dress online… but she’s wearing her normal size and it’s way too short to be a dress, in my opinion. It’s mostly sold out now, but I found this top that’s really cute and similar and half the price. I’m also loving this leopard print onesie for newborns up to 4 year olds.

Thanksgiving Dress Outfit Option

November 8, 2018 by ashadmin No Comments

Messy hair, don’t care… should have been the title of this post. We were running around all morning before I took these and my hair could definitely use a brushing… oops. I’m wearing another bump-hugging dress that I love and think this outfit would be perfect for a dressier Thanksgiving. We usually keep it pretty casual on Turkey Day, but I wanted to throw out this option if you’re searching for a dress option.

duster, dress, purse c/o, booties

I don’t really wear body-con dresses normally, but I love them when I’m pregnant. I think they’re so flattering for all stages of pregnancy. My favorite way to wear them is with a duster, cardigan or kimono layered on top. I’m wearing this chenille duster from Love, Fire that I just can’t get enough of.

Everything I’m wearing (aside from my bag) is new from Nordstrom. I’ve been shopping a little more than normal lately. It’s still hot here and I’ve been looking for cute outfits that are comfortable and practical. As much as I love high-waisted jeans, they’re just not cutting it these days.

I posted these booties on Instagram and Like to Know It and they were a hit! I love wearing booties in the fall, but I’m pretty picky. First up they need to be comfortable. I also like a low heel and a slight dip in the front. These checked all the boxes and they’re under $100. They come in black too if you’re looking for a good black bootie.

With the holidays basically here… we have our first party next weekend. I’ve started looking for more dresses that will work for me. I’m loving this metallic slip dress that you can wear on it’s own or layer a tee under… a 90’s throwback I’m loving. This longer midi dress is also on my list. It comes in both black and cream and the side slit makes it really flattering. This navy sweater dress is a really cute option for the holidays. I’d get it for Thanksgiving, but last year it was 90 degrees here… #seasons.

Pumpkin Patches & Fall Outfits

October 2, 2018 by ashadmin 1 Comment

Now that it’s October (well it was still September when we took these photos over the weekend), I think it’s finally appropriate to do all the fall things. Like visiting a pumpkin patch… while wearing fall outfits, of course. We tried to dress accordingly, but since it was still warm we had to get a little creative with our wardrobe. And when I say “we” I mean Crosby because I’m clearly wearing another version of the same outfit you’ve seen me in the past couple of weeks.

This year Crosby and I are going to hit the pumpkin patch circuit hard. I wanted to make a list of all the pumpkin patches in Orange County I want to visit this season.

Irvine Regional Park (where these photos were taken) – It was our first time out there and it’s such a hidden gem. It’s tucked deep in Orange and it’s a huge park with a lake, zoo, pony rides, tractor rides, wild peacocks and a fun train you can ride through the park. The pumpkin patch is a small part of the park but it’s super cute and the perfect place for toddlers and kids.

Tanaka Farms – We’ve been to Tanaka several times but never to the pumpkin patch. It’s a  pretty big farm located in Irvine. They have a pumpkin patch, wagon ride, petting zoo and other fall activities.

Johnson Brother’s Pumpkin Patch – We visited last year when Crosby was about 7 months old and took so many cute pictures of her propped up in the pumpkins. The good old days when she wasn’t running around. It’s a really cute spot also in Irvine, it’s in a parking lot so it’s on the smaller side. We went in the evening and it was really well lit, perfect for photos.

Pumpkin City – Another parking lot pumpkin patch but I’ve heard nothing but great things about it. It’s definitely on our list to check out this year.

Pa’s Pumpkin Patch – This one is up in Seal Beach right on PCH. They have rides, ponies and a petting zoo. It looks super cute.

I’m sure there’s more… please let me know if you know of a great one in the area!

Relaxed Fall Outfit

September 26, 2017 by ashadmin 2 Comments

This last weekend we got a little dose of fall weather that made it possible for me to dress like this without looking ridiculous/sweating to death. It didn’t last long and now we’re back to 80 degrees but it was a nice break.

Relaxed Maxi Dress

June 2, 2016 by Ashley 2 Comments

lavender maxi dress

Now that it’s June the countdown to summer is really on. Our summers don’t really heat up until July or August but I like to stock up on essentials to get me through them this time of year. On that list is a great summer dress. This is the perfect relaxed maxi. I tied it in a knot at the hem to show off my wedges but it can also be worn with a pair of flip flops for an easy casual look.

I’m pretty minimal with my accessories, but every now and then I like to mix it up. One of my favorite pieces to bring into the mix is an oversized watch. This one is from Daniel Wellington and until June 15, they’re offering 15% off with the code ASHLEYFASHION. I also have this one that Jeff likes the steal.

Baby Blue & Cognac

May 17, 2016 by Ashley 1 Comment

blue off the shoulder dress

I think powder blue is my favorite color to wear at the moment. It’s soft and feminine without being overly girly. And I’m loving it paired with my cognac shoes and bag.

This might be the perfect spring dress. It’s the prettiest shade of baby blue, off-the-shoulder and right around $50. What more could you want? Sadly, things this good never last long and it’s almost sold out. I’m pulling some similar options if you’re looking for more.
