Now that it’s June the countdown to summer is really on. Our summers don’t really heat up until July or August but I like to stock up on essentials to get me through them this time of year. On that list is a great summer dress. This is the perfect relaxed maxi. I tied it in a knot at the hem to show off my wedges but it can also be worn with a pair of flip flops for an easy casual look.

I’m pretty minimal with my accessories, but every now and then I like to mix it up. One of my favorite pieces to bring into the mix is an oversized watch. I think powder blue is my favorite color to wear at the moment. It’s soft and feminine without being overly girly. And I’m loving it paired with my cognac shoes and bag.

This might be the perfect spring dress. It’s the prettiest shade of baby blue, off-the-shoulder and right around $50. What more could you want? Sadly, things this good never last long and it’s almost sold out. I’m pulling some similar options if you’re looking for more.

I’ve mentioned this before but I’m very picky with maxi dresses. But lately I’ve been drawn to them. This one actually doubles as a kimono which is perfect for spring/festival season. I packed it for my trip to Palm Springs last week ,but forgot to bring a belt to cinch the waist. If there’s ever a place to wear a flowy boho dress it’s the desert, so I just went with it.

Let’s talk about my shoes. I’ve been wanting a new pair of tan wedges but hadn’t seen anything that caught my eye. On a quick trip to Target I spotted this DV pair and knew I had to have them. I had no idea Target even carried DV but now I want every single pair. Check them all out here.

We just got back from a long weekend in Palm Springs. In my opinion, no trip there is complete without a few stops… one of my favorites is the instagram famous #thatpinkdoor. I mean, who doesn’t love a pink door? If only I could convince Jeff to paint ours pink…

We all know I’m all about a backless dress. I’ve been saving this one for spring and am so excited to wear it. The cherry blossom print has me excited for longer warmer days hopefully starting now!

I’ve been a long time fan of the brand Show Me Your Mumu. It’s such a fun, boho, California cool  line of pieces I want to live in.

This dress is perfect for fall/winter. It’s been a bit cooler here lately so I wore it over tights the other day. I was thinking it would be the perfect dress to wear with the over the knee boots I’m lusting after right now. Swing dresses are so playful and I love how they can be dressed up or down with the right tweaks.

I really played up the blues in the dress with more of my favorite blue pieces. I’m thinking I’ll be wearing this look a lot more before the end of the year.

This dress from Paper Crown’s collaboration with Rifle Paper Co screamed 60’s resort wear to me. It was an obvious choice to pack to my most recent trip to Palm Springs. Like I’ve mentioned, Jeff and I can’t go out to Palm Springs without visiting our favorite hotel and this dress fit in so well at The Parker.

If I were to design a dress to represent that hotel it would be this one. It’s loose, breezy fit is the perfect piece to throw on after a day in the sun. And it looks so pretty when you do a few twirls in it. Because, let’s be honest, when I put on a dress my inner six-year-old comes out and I can’t help but twirl away.
