When I get up early to get work done I can always count on Mackie to wake up with me and keep me company. We've got a little routine.. she follows me out of bed, I let her out in the backyard for a few minutes and then she eats her breakfast while I drink my coffee. It's our special morning quiet time before the rest of our house wakes up and chaos ensues.
If you've been reading my blog for awhile you know that Mackie, our 7-year-old French Bulldog, is our first baby. She's as sweet as can be and puts up with a toddler who is still learning the meaning of the word "gentle" without being phased.
Today Crosby is one and I’m trying to wrap my head around how that happened. It’s been hands down the fastest and best year of my life, and I know each year is going to go by even quicker from here on out. We had a bit of a rough start because she was so tiny and didn’t really want to eat, but we got through it and now even that seems like a blur.
Happy Halloween! I’m in disbelief that it’s the last day of the month – each month seems to go by even faster than the last. I feel like I’m going to blink and it’s going to be New Years Eve! October was a fun month and I wanted to share a quick instagram update from some of the looks I posted over there.
I’m someone who requires a lot of sleep to function. I wake up for work around five am, so by 9 pm I’m ready to crash and call it a night. My bed has always been my sanctuary, but ever since we moved into our huge new master suite our old bed felt so teeny tiny in the room.
Recently Jeff and I and got the chance to upgrade from our old queen size mattress to a king from Leesa. If you’re not familiar Leesa is an exclusively online mattress company. They’ve designed and crafted a beautiful mattress that really helps give you the best night’s sleep. They’re delivered right to your door step in a box about the size of a mini-fridge. I couldn’t believe my king mattress was inside! Even better, for every 10 mattresses they sell, they donate one to a shelter. If you’re still not sold, they have a 100-night risk-free guarantee.continue reading
Winter… are we sick of it yet? I know I am. At this point in the season all my clothes start to look sort of blah. I guess I go through this in the summer too, but it’s harder in the colder months because I wear more clothing. I’ve gotten so sick of wearing jeans, sweaters and booties, my go-to uniform this winter, and am trying to mix it up when I get a chance.
This maxi dresswill be perfect for spring and summer, but I couldn’t resist breaking it out a bit early. When I topped it with my favorite moto jacket I felt just brave enough to go open toe. But I may be jumping the gun there.continue reading
