Thursday, Valentine’s Day, Topshop finally opened it’s doors at the Grove in Hollywood. I’d been waiting for them to make their way to the west coast for so long and was ecstatic they landed in Los Angeles. Anyway, that day my boss asked me to host a segment on their arrival in LA and even though I didn’t have any makeup or hair products on me (other than what I put on before I left the house), I went for it.
Check out the segment here.
I have showed glimpses of my condo before: here, here, here, here, here and here. But I thought it was time to give a proper home tour. I’ve been living here for almost two years and I love it. As if things couldn’t get better, one of my best friend recently bought the unit next door… it’s like having a roommate without having a roommate if that makes sense.
Anyway, I looked for the perfect place for close to two months but it felt like two years because I was devoting every waking free moment to it. I was obsessive about checking MLS listings online and made my realtor take me to every open house in Los Angeles. Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating a bit but I was so happy to find this place and feel like I really lucked out. Side note, if anyone in LA needs a realtor, I’ve got you covered. Second side note, my photog and DSLR were gone so I took these with my little point and shoot.
Take a peak at part one, my entry way, kitchen and dining room…
I keep my countertops very clean of clutter. I have plenty of storage space and excess stuff stresses me out. I’m a little OCD at times.
Another thing I lucked out on were the upgrades. I changed paint colors, lighting and the floor but everything else was done by the previous owners. Although I had dreams of an all white kitchen and practically gave my dad a heart attack when I told him I was going to replace these nice cherry cabinets with white, I’ve grown to like them.
Since I don’t have an office, I do my blogging from my dining room. Usually my laptop is at the head of the table, but I cleaned it up for the pictures.
Check back the following two Mondays for parts 2 and 3 of my home tour.
I cannot believe how cold it’s been the past week in Southern California! I know, lots of you live in places where there’s snow on the ground and negative temperatures and you’re laughing. But, it’s been colder here than New York!! Luckily, I was shopping with my mom right after Christmas and found this vest on sale for the ridiculous and impossible price to pass up of $8! It’s staples like these that make a cold-wave (is that a thing?) bare able.
Lucky for me, it’s warmed up a lot this week and we’re back to our normal 72 and sunny.
Last weekend it felt like winter hit Southern California. No more beach cover ups for me… at least for now. I’m sure it will be back in the 70’s before Christmas, but for the moment I’m enjoying the chill. It’s fun to bring out coats and other winter-y things as long as I know I’ll be wearing sandals and tank tops in the coming weeks.
After a really crazy month, one of my best friend’s and I decided to indulge in a spa day on Saturday. Also, it was Carmageddon weekend and we didn’t want to drive too far or really be on the road this weekend. So off went went to the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills for a day of pampering
After our massages and treatments we had champagne and a long lunch at the poolside cafe. It was a much needed day of pampering and the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of our every day lives.
