I know it’s March and everyone is posting about spring break and spring clothes, but I’m over here freezing. The weather decided it wanted to be winter again after a whole month of spring/summer weather. Luckily I still had a few tricks up my sleeve. I’m a sucker for a statement piece and this sweater is just that. It actually reminds me of the Alice & Olivia pumps (seen here // flat version here) I got a couple years ago.

I had to wear it with pants here but think I’ll be able to pull it back out with skirts and maybe even a pair of shorts for a more casual vibe.

Let’s get basic for a second, every girl needs a LBR (little black romper) in their closet. I think they’re even more versatile than a LBD. And so great for those occasions when you don’t know what to wear. Do I need to dress up? Will I be too dressed up? IDK, pull out your LBR and go.

This one from Yumi Kim is so chic. I wanted to wear it to the SAG Awards awhile back but it was too cold that day(side note: could this post have more acronyms?) Instead I dusted it off, threw on my favorite fringe heels and went for a dressy breakfast a few Sundays back.

As much as I try boyfriend jeans are hard for me. I have shortish legs and if I wear them wrong it can look like I’m having a rough few months. I try to combat that problem by pairing them with the right pieces. Heels are necessary to give me that extra boost. I am loving this pair and will continue to experiment outfits with them.

I think March is my favorite month. I love the start of spring and clothes that come with it. This top might have something to do with that. I love the texture and fit and know I’ll wear it so many ways.

I’m ready for a vacation.

Like, more than ready. Almost three months living through a renovation will do that to you. LUCKILY I live a few miles from the beach and we’ve been having the best summer-like weather the past couple of weeks. Seriously it’s been 75-80 every day. I call it the mid-winter tease and it happens every year. Yet each year people act like it’s some crazy abnormal early summer, FREAK OUT and then a few weeks later it rains and gets cold.

Moral of the story, if you live in Southern California, don’t pack away your rain boots or bikinis.

Now that I’ve gone completely off subject let’s backtrack. Scallop bikinis. I was obsessed with this one last summer. It has a such heafty price tag for pretty much the least material ever. Luckily I’ve found a few alternatives this year, but I’m thinking these will sell out quickly, so if you’re interested SHOP NOW 🙂

Wasn’t it just Friday afternoon like a second ago? How is it seriously Monday morning already?! I feel like each weekend goes by at warp speed – I really wish there was a way to make them slow down. I’m hoping this week goes by just as fast. In the meantime here’s a little roundup of things I’d rather be wearing this Monday.

For the record, I can’t really complain… the weather here has been off the charts. I’m talking in the 90’s. It’s been fun to pulling out some summer pieces to wear for the first time this year.

These pictures are making me extremely nostalgic, it’s the last time I’ll ever take pictures on my balcony. Nearly two years ago when I started my blog I took a lot of pictures out there (first seen here), and above that it was the perfect little perch to unwind after a long day at work. I will miss it so much.

But enough of that, this mix of colors is getting me so ready for spring. I’ve always loved mixing pink and purple, but I toned it down a bit with the brown accents. And, of course, my trusty lawn flamingos were the perfect accessory.
