Bienvenidos a Miami! We couldn’t stop playing that Will Smith song in Miami… it’s just too perfect. You know what else was perfect? This maxi dress. Another light weight piece to fight the humidity while still feeling put together for a little happy hour and exploring.
One of the questions I’m asked most is how do I do my hair? I wanted to get a tutorial up here but time got away from me… I still might one day. But for now I thought I’d share some of my hair secrets. I’m lucky to be blessed with a lot of straight hair. Although if it were up to me it would have at least a little wave/curl to it #grassisalwaysgreener.
I’d say about 85% of the time I let my hair air dry and don’t bother “styling” it. This is mostly during the week when I’m working. But sometimes I don’t touch it before I take pictures for the blog. Those are the ones you see of me with a hat on, a braid or just straight don’t get AF hair. However, I actually love to style my hair (though it does take some time) and these are the tools I rely on.
T3 wand c/o- up until recently I used a regular curling iron without using the clamp. This thing is a game-changer that’s changed my life. Dramatic? Maybe but here’s the deal… you place a section of hair in the clamp and with a touch of a button, the technology detects the motion of your hand and automatically propels the barrel in the desired direction. It basically curls your hair at the turn of your wrist!
It’s a 10 Miracle Leave In – I’ve written about this before so I’ll keep it simple. My hair gets so tangled when it’s wet and this is the only thing that allows me to get a wet brush through it. I’d buy stock in it if I could.
Aveda Thickening Tonicand Love Oil c/o- if you’re heat styling your hair you need to treat it to a little TLC. These are both amazing and leave my hair feeling nourished and trauma free. I even use a little if I’m not putting heat on it while letting it air-dry.
1907 Blow Dryer and Round Brushes c/o- like I mentioned, I let my hair air-dry most of the time. So when I reach for a blow dryer it better be the best of the best. I’ve been loving this one from 1907 and the brushes that go along with it. When I want a sleek blow-out look this is what I use.
When it comes to my hair, I’m pretty routine. I’ve had the same style for years and like to keep it pretty low maintenance. But in order to keep my strands healthy I rely on a few old faithful go-to’s.
Without question my favorite line is It’s a 10, buttheir Miracle Leave-In is my favorite. I have a lot of fine hair that gets super tangled when it’s wet and it’s really the only thing that helps me comb through it. It’s a huge life and time saver for me. HUGE.I’ve been using the keratinone but it also comes in lite for thinner hair, blonde that I sometimes use and regular. I love them all.
Several months ago I also started using their Potion 10 shampoo and conditionerwhich also kept my hair from getting as tangled while I wash it. I cannot say enough good things about their product line.
Here are my other favorites for managing my hair…
Coconut Oil – I mean who doesn’t love this stuff. I use it for pretty much everything, but probably my favorite use is a deep conditioner for my hair. I either sleep with it in or put it in my hair and twist it into a bun for a few hours before I wash it.
Keratase Aqua Seal – After I curl my hair I twist a dime sized amount into my strands to lock in moisture and keep them healthy.
Bonacure Cell Perfector – Similar to the Keratase, I apply a dime sized amount after I air dry my hair to lock in moisture when I’m not heat styling.
Tangle Teezer Brush – My favorite brush for my tangled mane. This thing really works without breaking off my hair.
A few notes… I try to let my hair air dry as much as possible, especially if I’m going to curl it. When I curl I use this curling iron (without the clamp).
Thanks for reading my hair novel! Let me know if you have any questions!

Hope you have a fab weekend – thanks for stopping by!
I hope your weekend is off to a good start! I’ve been doing some online shopping and wanted to put together a round-up of what I’m loving right now. I’m trying to update my wardrobe and pick up a few things I’ve been missing.
I also need to do another closet purge. It’s so much easier to get ready when you can see everything easily. It’s definitely a work in progress though… wish me luck!
