Now that I’m a mom I’ve turned into a slight freak about germs. Like most new parents, anytime anyone comes over to see Crosby we make them wash their hands first. Now that she’s a few months old we’ve gone out and about quite a bit and the one thing that continues to give me peace of mind on our excursions is this cute little hand sanitizer Birdie from OLIKA. It literally goes everywhere with me and luckily it’s super cute! Not only is it a hand sanitizer but there is also a hidden pocket for wipes! I don’t know what I’d do without it.
How crazy is it that the year is half way over and we’re already in July?! Summer has always been my favorite season to dress for. I love cutoffs, rompers, sundresses and swimsuits and haven’t really been wearing much else lately. Here’s a little roundup from looks I shared on instagram in June and the beginning of July.

I was a journalism major in college and one of our assignments was watching the local news nightly, reading the Orange County Register and even submitting pieces to it. Several of my professors also wrote for the Register and I learned so much from them. I got kind of addicted to local news and love reading about what’s going on in my community. It’s a great way to discover hidden gems like a farmers market or new restaurant I’d miss otherwise. Plus, in a world that’s so digitally focused, it’s refreshing to actually pick up a copy of the paper.
Now that it’s officially summer, Jeff and I are trying to spend as much time outdoors as possible. Especially on the weekends! We’ve traded our lazy mornings making breakfast and coffee at home for a trip to our favorite spot where we grab the OC Register while enjoying a leisurely morning in the sunshine. It’s fun to comb through the paper to find new local spots we want to try.
When we were house hunting the Real Estate section was so helpful, and I’m still enjoying reading through it. It’s kind of like sneaking a peek in your neighbors houses or finding a cool neighborhood you never knew existed.

This post was sponsored by The Orange County Register and The Press-Enterprise but all opinions are my own.
I’m ready for a vacation.
Like, more than ready. Almost three months living through a renovation will do that to you. LUCKILY I live a few miles from the beach and we’ve been having the best summer-like weather the past couple of weeks. Seriously it’s been 75-80 every day. I call it the mid-winter tease and it happens every year. Yet each year people act like it’s some crazy abnormal early summer, FREAK OUT and then a few weeks later it rains and gets cold.
Moral of the story, if you live in Southern California, don’t pack away your rain boots or bikinis.
Now that I’ve gone completely off subject let’s backtrack. Scallop bikinis. I was obsessed with this one last summer. It has a such heafty price tag for pretty much the least material ever. Luckily I’ve found a few alternatives this year, but I’m thinking these will sell out quickly, so if you’re interested SHOP NOW 🙂

Happy hump day – thanks for coming by!
I know mid-September seems like a crazy time for a swimwear post, but it’s the best time of year to stock up! If you’re going on any tropical trips around the holidays or after the new year, you’ll be forced to pay full price and your summer glow will be long gone. Right now things are a little picked over and marked down like crazy which makes it the perfect time to shop!
I’ve had a slight obsession with monokinis this year. Also seen here and here. There’s just something so flattering about a one piece with cut outs. Plus you can just throw on a pair of cutoffs and go anywhere and look so chic.
The leaf print suit I’m wearing here is a recent find. At under $20 it’s a steal! I wish I had it all summer long, it would have been the perfect piece to pack on my honeymoon.

Thanks for reading – hope your Thursday is amazing!

I don’t know about you, but until recently the last time I owned a one-piece swimsuit I was about seven years old. Flash forward 20 something years and I’ve rediscovered how awesome they are. My favorites are the monokini kind (as seen here and here). The best thing about a one-piece are they’re the perfect suit to wear to a summer party… you can eat whatever you want and not have to worry about the bloat. Also, there’s such a range of styles from conservative to the very daring. This scalloped one from Anthropologie currently tops my list but here are more of my favorites.

Are you as into one-pieces as I am this summer?
