Now that we’re in the second week of August I’m starting to experience the same sadness I did as a kid when the summer was wrapping up and it was time to go back to school. Only instead of school, I’m getting ready to go back to work after almost 7 months off!
I didn’t think I was wearing enough blue lately so I packed this dress to wear over the weekend in La Jolla. I love the royal blue shade and will be wearing it more this spring and summer – it’s not maternity! I’m happy that the off-the-shoulder trend stuck around this year and can’t wait to wear some of my favorite OTS tops and dresses again.
It has really been the summer of off the shoulder everything and I’m fully embracing it. This dress is light, chic check out the price! I wore it to an outdoor Birthday party over the weekend and stayed cool. Sometimes that’s hard to do in August. It can be hard to justify spending money on clothes this late in the season, but when they’re priced this well they’re way worth it. I don’t know about you but I’ve been pretty sick of all my summer clothes and this dress was the perfect excuse to change it up.
This might be the perfect spring dress. It’s the prettiest shade of baby blue, off-the-shoulder and right around $50. What more could you want? Sadly, things this good never last long and it’s almost sold out. I’m pulling some similar options if you’re looking for more.
Hope you have a great Tuesday – thanks for stopping by!
OK – so my prom was a long time ago. I mean, even my high school reunion was a few years ago, if that tells you anything. But I was still excited with Boohoo reached out and asked if I wanted to style one of their prom dresses. I took it as another shot at prom and chose this pretty powder blue dress that made me feel like Cinderella. They have an amazing selection of formal dresses perfect for prom, or whatever else you’re looking for. These days my calendar is full of weddings which are kind of like adult proms, right?
I actually don’t cringe when I see my senior prom pics. Sometimes I even joke that Eva Mendes stole my prom look for the 2010 Golden Globes. 😉 I wore a simple white strapless dress with an asymmetrical hem and turquoise jewelry. I remember when I chose it how different it felt than my other formal dance looks, it was timeless!
Do you have any crazy prom dress stories? I’d love to hear!
