This summer is flying by! I think time drastically speeds up when you have a baby – I find myself looking at pictures of things that happened months ago and feel like they were just yesterday. And now that we’re in August summer days are really numbered. Although in Southern California it will still be warm til Thanksgiving.
It’s been so long since I posted a bump-date, I thought I was due for one. I’m 27 weeks along now which I believe translates to 7 months. It’s crazy to think I’ve been pregnant for over half the year and even crazier that she’ll be here in less than 3 months!
I can’t believe it’s Christmas week and I can’t believe I’m six and a half months pregnant. Soon it will be 2017 and a little after that I’ll have a baby! Every year flies by faster than the last but I’m trying to slow down a little and enjoy the holiday season. Sometimes it’s fun to get a little dressed up and go check out holiday decorations. My favorite new little area near our house, Lido Marina Village, is so cute right now. They have Christmas trees and lights and wreaths all over. I want to set up camp there and never leave.
With less than two weeks to go until Christmas I’m sure some of you are already thinking ahead to New Years Eve. I won’t be doing much celebrating this year, (maybe from my couch with some sparkling cider) but I know a lot of you will be heading out-of-town. Las Vegas is always a popular spot to ring in the new year and I think Aria Resort and Casinowould be the perfect place to stay if you’re thinking about heading out there. The location is pretty great, it’s very central on the strip with a tram that takes you down to The Bellagio or up to The Monte Carlo. The resort and casino are so nice and clean I never felt like I was getting a lot of second-hand smoke like most casinos on the strip. And there are SO MANY great restaurants right on site. I wish we’d had more time to try them all.
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Now we’re officially in the holiday crunch – I can’t wait to decorate my house! Before that starts I wanted to share some of my favorite Black Friday sales in case you’re like me and would rather shop in your PJ’s than fight the crazy crowds.
I’m really loving all the wine colored shades for fall like this burgundy dress. I paired it with my over-the-knee-boots and fun new tassel bag for a look that I think would be perfect for Thanksgiving. Plus this dress has a looser fit so you won’t feel constricted after all the eating and drinking that comes along with the day. The best part about wearing OTK boots with a dress is only a sliver of your legs show so it’s almost like wearing pants. If you live somewhere a little colder, you could always add a pair of tights for extra warmth.
