When I got this dress back in July I pictured myself wearing it with booties and maybe a hat once it became fall. Well now that we’re into October I figured it was time!

In my 20’s rompers were my summer go-to, but I haven’t worn them as much lately. I actually just cleaned out my closet and got rid of a bunch of old ones that were either too short, tight or worn. That’s how much I loved them!
In the winter I get sick of wearing pants everyday, even when it’s cold. So my solution has been dresses with jackets and layers, sometimes I throw on tights or over-the-knee boots if it’s really cold. I was able to brave it this day and wear my new floral dress with this suede jacket over. I have to admit, I was a little cold but it felt good to get out of my wardrobe rut. Plus it’s much more comfortable to throw a dress over the bump instead of pants.
I’m really loving all the wine colored shades for fall like this burgundy dress. I paired it with my over-the-knee-boots and fun new tassel bag for a look that I think would be perfect for Thanksgiving. Plus this dress has a looser fit so you won’t feel constricted after all the eating and drinking that comes along with the day. The best part about wearing OTK boots with a dress is only a sliver of your legs show so it’s almost like wearing pants. If you live somewhere a little colder, you could always add a pair of tights for extra warmth.
I’m really enjoying comfy basics right now, sweaters, boots and anything cozy to get me in a fall mood. I feel like I’ve been stock piling sweaters but can’t seem to get enough of them! It’s so cold when I go to work in the morning so the stock piling is paying off… at least until 11 am 😉 I love the cutout in the shoulder on this one, I always look for little details like that to make them stand out.
Over the knee boots have been big the past few years, but they’ve also had big price tags. Even though they’ve been around a few years I still think of them as a trend and don’t want to invest a lot of money on them. Last year I found this pair and thought the $60 price was a mistake so I bought them really fast before it could change in case it was a mistake. But it wasn’t and I’ve found even more options all under $100!
