Shoe Dazzled

June 30, 2014 by ashadmin 2 Comments

Happy Monday! I’m super excited because I’m off all week… hello vacation! I’ve been in Palm Springs all weekend celebrating my Birthday, but I’m excited to come home and get some beach time in too. Last week I put on this Rebecca Taylor top and Rag & Bone jeans and just felt kinda “blah.” I was comfortable but I needed a little something to finish my look. Enter the shoes. I received this fab pair of strappy sandals from shoedazzle and pictured wearing them with dresses and other bright summery things. They ended up being the perfect piece to complete my look. continue reading

Mixed Prints & Layers

Mixed prints and layers always make an outfit more interesting and unique. I love creating a look by pulling pieces out of my closet with similar colors but different prints. I built my look around two pieces I’ve had for awhile, this Rebecca Taylor top and jacket from Nordstrom and ended up look perfect for spring/summer.

New Years Glam

party look1

I’ve been on a full skirt hunt for awhile, but I completely forgot about this one I’ve probably had for five years! I updated it with cropped sweater and sequin jacket. I love putting a new spin on looks and adding my own touches. Speaking of that, I actually had my tailor crop this sweater when I couldn’t find one I liked.

I plan on wearing some version of this to ring in the new year. Do you have your outfit picked out yet?

I feel like year after year I hear about great cyber Monday deals but have always missed out on them. This year I’ve done most of my holiday shopping online and was waiting for cyber Monday to score some key items.

To get you in the spirit I’ve put together my largest and girliest gift guide yet! I hope this points you in the direction of that hard to shop for friend, co-worker, sister or roommate you’re scratching your head over.

Camo Collaboration

Today I’m excited to collaborate with the lovely Nikki of Bedazzles After Dark. I love Nikki’s fun style and she has the personality to match, we met while she was still living in LA! Make sure to stop by her blog if you’re not familiar, you’ll love her.

We decided to show off the army trend that’s been everywhere this fall and both ended up in camo. Like I mentioned Friday, I’ve been dressing edgier lately and these camo pants are the perfect example of that. I don’t think I’ve ever worn cargo pants before but I loved the contrast here with my sequined jacket. continue reading

Emerald Collaboration

Right before the seasons change I grow increasingly bored with the current season’s wardrobe. But my boredom leads to creativity and I try to find different ways to mix up my current pieces. One of my favorite ways to do that is by layering a sweater over a dress to turn it into a skirt. It’s so simple and it completely changes the look of a boring old dress. I did that here with this slouchy cashmere sweater over an old favorite cocktail dress. Not only did it dress it down for daytime but it instantly made it seasonally appropriate. continue reading
