Good basics are the foundation of fun outfits. I like to start simple (this is my all time favorite t-shirt – I’ve had it for years and it’s held up) and add fun touches. This outfit actually happened by accident and I’m not mad at it. I mentioned here my obsession with body chains and finally got one to try out. Nasty Gal is my go-to for trends like this – they’re super affordable and have the best selection.

If you’re unsure about the trend wear it with a normal outfit, like I’m doing here. It’s a safe way to take it for a test drive. I plan on stepping it up and wearing it this weekend with a cocktail dress for my best friend’s Birthday. continue reading

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m all about capes this season. I just can’t get enough. I paired this brown one over my favorite blush sweater on a particularly gray day. Side note: I’ve always spelled gray with an “A” instead of an “E” – how do you spell it?

I think I could wear blush and white everyday and not get bored. There’s something calming about these colors and I always love a neutral pallet. It also gives you some wiggle room if you want to go wild with accessories. I’ve been on a “less is more” wave for awhile but I’m not opposed to some fun flair. 🙂 continue reading

A little black dress is a staple in every girl’s closet, but what about a little black jumpsuit? I absolutely adore onesies but have had a hard time finding jumpsuits that fit me correctly because I’m not very tall with short legs and a longer torso. I fit perfectly into rompers, but the long version has stumped me for quite some time. This one from Nasty Gal fits me like a glove. From the moment I put it on I was obsessed and couldn’t believe I’d actually found one to fit me.

I’m not really a purple person, but this sweater has barely left my body this past week. Technically it’s cobalt, but it sure looks purple to me. Anyway…

I’ve been loving layered winter looks and was excited to wear this Saturday. I pulled my sweater over a t-shirt, threw on my leather jacket and felt hat and hit the ground running. The only problem was it was 75 and sunny. Oh, southern California winter, you are a tricky one. But that’s the beauty of layers… pretty soon I’d stripped down to my tee for a boat ride and all was right in the world. continue reading

If loving a poncho/cape is wrong, I don’t wanna be right.

I have been on board with this trend all fall and winter long and just love how versatile they are. This color blocked version is my alternative to the Burberry Cape that made the rounds this fall. I wasn’t about to drop that much on something so trendy but still lusted after it. Luckily I found an alternative that won’t break the bank. The best part is you honestly feel like you’re wearing a blanket… and sometimes I wear it over my pj’s at home when I’m cold. Now I just need to get my initial monogramed on it. continue reading

I survived another Golden Globe Awards! This was actually my fifth or sixth time (I’ve lost count) working the show and every year is so different. I wanted to share some behind the scenes pictures I took. The day is kind of a blur… lots of steaming, running around, finalizing jewelry and accessories and some fun too. Around 2 pm we make our way to the red carpet and are on a very chaotic lockdown for hours as the stars arrive and do interviews.
