This black and white dress is the perfect mix of sweet and sassy. With the peek-a-boo cutout in the front and bow in the back, it’s a good balance without being over the top. I think it would be fun to wear to a wedding event… just as long as it’s your wedding!

When I’m looking for an easy way to get my hair off my back I love doing a  fishtail braid. They’re super quick and easy and look chic enough to wear with anything! This time of year I always love bright colored pieces. However this skirt has sat in my closet for over a year… so much time that it’s moved from J. Crew to J. Crew Factory, if that tells you anything. I’m not sure why I hadn’t worn it before now, it’s such an easy piece. You know… one I can dress up or down; that’s long enough to wear to work but short enough to still be fun.

Speaking of fun, I love how the crochet on this top is wide enough to let flashes of skin peek though. But since you can’t show it all this bra is my savior. I might be late to the bandeau bra game but trust me this one is the perfect “barely there” piece for layering under any tops you need a little more coverage. continue reading

Happy Friday… and it’s a good one! I’m really into off the shoulder dresses and tops, they’re the perfect alternative to strapless and are much more flattering. They always make me feel very boho and who doesn’t love that. This dress is the perfect new addition to my wardrobe. It could just as easily be dressed up with a pair of strappy heels and a clutch, which is how I plan on wearing it next time.

Hope you’re ready for a springy holiday weekend full of chocolate… I know I am. Did I mention I’ve somewhat given up carbs until the wedding? It’s completely crazy I know, but I still can’t say no to chocolate. Jeff joined in on this challenge with me, but has the self control of a Navy Seal and likes to remind me constantly that chocolate is in fact a carb. I looked in my closet recently and was a little stunned by how many neutral pieces I’d collected. Over the last year or so I’ve gravitated towards nude, white, blush and tan colors the most. This was quite a shift from how I dressed in the past. I used to be all about color. In fact, in college my motto was “black is for boring people.” So needless to say I was a little disappointed in myself for the state of my current wardrobe.

Now I know I’m older now and my tastes have changed, but the second I put on this dress I felt happy. There’s something so fresh and playful about color and wearing it is always so much fun. I’m now determined to add more colorful pieces to my closet this spring and this dress will be worn to death from now until September. continue reading

I’ve been dressing pretty girly this week (see my last post here), but decided to edge up this Shabby Apple gingham dress with my favorite leather jacket. This jacket honestly goes with everything and has a”cool” factor that instantly makes you feel like a badass even when you’re in an ultra feminine dress.

I’m looking forward to the weekend, but what else is new? We have some serious things to check off our wedding to-do list including menu tasting and finally finalizing our registry. I’m not sure if any other couple in history has had as difficult of a time with it. I even wrote this post about what to register for.
