We’re only a week or so in but I can say my favorite purchase so far this spring has been this striped ombre rainbow cardigan. I’ve been so drawn to neutrals the past several months and was wanting something fun as the weather warms up. I first spotted this knit striped rainbow cardigan a few weeks ago and couldn’t stop thinking about it. A few days later it went on sale so I pulled the trigger and am so happy I did. I never knew how versatile a rainbow clothing item could be until I started thinking of different things I’d wear it with… once I started going I decided to style it 10 ways for a fun post.
A few weeks ago I mentioned things I was excited to wear in the fall. One of them was this collarless sweater blazer from J. Crew. As soon as I saw it I knew it would be a great staple piece, not just for fall, but to wear all year. It’s incredibly flattering and so versatile. It comes in the khaki I have and 4 other colors too. It’s definitely not sweater weather here yet, but in the coming weeks we’ll start to have slightly cooler mornings and nights and I know I’ll reach for this over and over. I got a jumpstart on wearing it and styled it three different ways.
Sizing info – I should mention this runs a bit big, but I find that to be the case with most things at J. Crew. I’m wearing an xxs and it fits great but will still be comfortable with heavier layers worn under.
Over shorts and a tank, this is probably the most realistic way to start wearing it now. Perfect for a cooler morning that you know will turn into a warm day.
With jeans and a tee. Honestly the weather is so mild here this is something I could probably wear most of the year. This tee has long sleeves but is super thin/easy to layer.
Over faux leather leggings for an “off duty” or post workout look. Another outfit I’ll be able to wear most of the year. If you live somewhere where it gets colder, you could wear a sweatshirt under for added warmth.
I blinked and it’s the end of June. Fourth of July is only one week from today. Wasn’t it just February like a minute ago?! In the sprit of the season I wanted to share some 4th of July outfit inspiration… with a few looks for the littles too! 4th of July has always been my favorite holiday, probably because it’s close to my Birthday and it’s in summer, my favorite season!
Typically my plans for the day require a few outfits: something for a colder morning (this sweaterwould be perfect), a swimsuit for the afternoon when the gloom burns off and then I need something different for the night, obviously.
Last year we were out of town and they didn’t even have fireworks where we were staying. Naturally we decided it’s a requirement to see them each year moving forward. This year I think we’re going to stay local and do something with friends either poolside or at the beach. I’m eying this swimsuitfor the day and this maxi dress for when the sun goes down.
I realize not everyone lives in the same climate or has the same plans, so I wanted to give a variety of looks here while still remaining true to the summer season.
I shared a similar post last year which I’ll link here in case you want to look back on it. Can we just take a minute for itty bitty Crosby! She looks like a giant now in comparison. Ahh #theygrowsofast
Do you have any fun plans for the day? Hopefully they involve relaxing in the sunshine with friends and family!
Instead of sharing a wish list I thought it would be fun to share my recent additions. I’m extremely lucky in that I get sent a lot of products to try out, but I also buy a fair amount to share here. That said, there are usually pieces that become staples and favorites in my closet and I wanted to put together a post about those.
About a month ago Brickyard Buffalo reached out to me asking me to be their guest editor for the week. Such an honor! I was so excited to work with them to bring you some of my very favorite things that are all on a special sale this week!
As of Monday it’s officially spring and I couldn’t be happier. Flowers are blooming, the weather has been so beautiful – although we might get more rain – and I’m celebrating in wedges and a maxi dress. This dress was really the solution to my late pregnancy woes when nothing was fitting.
