A few weeks back I did a post on Wilder’s current favorites and had a few requests for what Crosby is currently into. She’s three now… almost three and a half and has spent most of the last four months at home. She’s become the best little independent player and has the most active imagination. She’s 100% girl and her number one obsession right now are baby dolls… caring for them and everything that comes with it. She also refuses to wear anything other than a dress which sometimes makes me want to pull my hair out.
It seems like just yesterday Wilder was born and I was trying to navigate a toddler and a newborn. Now I’m juggling two toddlers and time is seriously flying. Wilder is 14 months old, but honestly he seems like more of a baby than a toddler. Maybe it’s because he’s the youngest, but I’m not really in a hurry for him to grow up. Today I want to share our favorite toys and things at this age.
Learning Walker – we got this when Crosby was a baby but really didn’t use it that much. All kids are different and since Wilder isn’t walking on his own yet, this has gotten a TON of use, it’s probably his most used toy. He can run with it and can navigate it so well.
Push Car – up until recently this was my favorite way to keep Wilder contained in our backyard. He was perfectly content with being pushed around in it for so long, which was nice for me to have while chasing after Crosby too.
Cozy Coupe Car – this is now Wilder’s favorite car to play with in our backyard. He absolutely loves pushing it around and basically uses it as a walker. Crosby loves to ride in it so it’s a nice way for them to collaborate and play together – she rides, he pushes.
Water Table – this was one of Wilder’s birthday gifts and it’s been used almost every day since April. Both kids love playing with it – Crosby uses it as a baby doll bath and Wilder has so much fun splashing in it. It’s such a great toy for toddlers of all ages.
Mini Scooter – this is another hand-me-down from Crosby that Wilder is just started to get into. It’s the perfect tiny learning scooter that has a seat they can sit on when they’re first using it. Eventually the seat comes off and they can scoot on it.
Ride On Car – another toddler favorite, these cars are a great size and perfect for the baby to toddler transition.
Clothing
I love little boys in basics; t-shirts and cotton shorts are pretty much what Wilder wears every day. Here are my favorites:
T-shirts – Target has the best selection (and prices). Wilder has so many of these.
Shorts – we have a lot from Target and Old Navy.
Pajamas – I love Burts Bees baby pjs. These two piece sets are perfect for toddlers.
Native Shoes – the perfect toddler boy shoe; indestructible, water proof and protect their feet if they’re still crawling. I’ve found them to run a little small and would recommend sizing up.
Spending all this time at home with toddlers can be a challenge. On one hand it’s nice because we can stay on a great napping/sleeping schedule, but the days can definitely drag on. I want to share some of my favorite toys and activities for keeping them busy and tantrum free… for at least two minutes anyway.
Before I get into that, here are some photos from the weekend. We were so thankful to have sunshine on Saturday we got outside and enjoyed it as much as possible. These mommy + me dresses from Spendid are so cute and are 40% off right now with code LOVE. They’re available in baby, toddler, little and big girl sizes. We might wear ours again on Easter… probably at home.

Here are 15 of our family’s favorite toys and activities to do at home.
PS – I realize not everything is able for quick delivery, but in some cases in store pickup might be an option.
I have been planning to do a post on toddler gift ideas for over a month, but life got too busy. Even though Christmas is about a week away, I still wanted to share it. Let’s just call it “last minute” toddler gift ideas… with lots of options to receive your gifts on time.
One of my favorite last minute shopping hacks is to use the “pick up in store” option. Most of my favorite stores offer it, from Target to Nordstrom to Bloomingdales, etc. It makes it so easy to order it online and go right in and pick it up without dealing with finding something in a crowded store.
I’ll start this with some of Crosby’s favorite toys. Melissa & Doug make so many great toddler toys/activities. I love that they’re things they can play with and use their imagination ie. no batteries or music.
- She got this grocery basket set last year and still loves playing with it. (available here and here)
- Same with this cleaning set. Hopefully it will get her to actually want to learn to clean… (available here and here)
- Another one of her favorites is this Vet kit. She loves anything doctor related… this is another cute doctor kit option.
- Love the smoothie making set and ice cream set for play food toys.
- For art I love this art easel as well as this table easel if you’re looking for a more compact option.
- We have these alphabet and number puzzles that I like to bring out on a rainy day or time when we’re playing inside a lot.
- I bring these water wow coloring pads out with us in my diaper bag… they’re mess free and can usually hold her attention for a few minutes.
Other options… some Crosby might even be getting
The cutest stroller for baby dolls.
This Dyson vacuum.
A cute tea cart.
Pretty tea set.
Hope you have a great day – thank you for reading and following!
hangers, rompers from left to right: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, crib, mattress, rug, pouf, camel print, similar pom pom mobile
This might seem like kind of an odd photo for a post titled “Crosby’s Favorite Things,” but playing in her closet is definitely one of those right now, so this pic seems oddly appropriate. Anyway, at 17 months Crosby is BUSY and anything that will keep her attention for any period of time is a win in my book. I wanted to share some of her current favorites.
Toys:
Doll stroller: she’ll push this empty, with a doll or stuffed animal riding in it… or load it up with all kinds of toys and push it around.
Shopping cart: similar to the stroller, she loves pushing this around too.
Stuffed animals: nothing revolutionary here but she’s started getting into stuffed animals. She sleeps with a really soft hippo in her crib and has a few other she loves to carry around.
Connecting toys: I’m not sure what she likes more, playing with these or emptying/filling the bucket they came in. Either way, they keep her occupied for a few minutes so they’re a win in my book.
Stackable cups/buckets: she loves to stack them and carry them around individually… and will sometimes bring them in the bath.
Bath toys… in and out of the bath: last month Crosby went through a hating the bath phase, but that seems to have passed… at least this week. She loves this mermaid, rubber duckies and these letters and numbers.
Water table: when it’s not too hot we love playing in the back yard. I always put this under an umbrella and she will stand at it splashing and playing with boats and toys for a few minutes.
My first purse: this was a shower gift and she’s now all about it. Loves to carry it around, especially when pushing her shopping cart. It’s so cute!
Books – favorites being “Mr. Brown Can Moo: Can You“, “Where Is Baby’s Belly Button” and all Jellycat books
Feeding:
Let me know if you have anything to add to the list. We love trying new things!
