Happy Friday! Hope you have fun plans to look forward to this weekend, we’re supposed to get more record setting rain here today so naturally I’m flashing back to sunnier days last weekend. Jeff and I celebrated a relaxing little babymoon about an hour down the coast at The Hyatt Regency La Jolla. It was the perfect travel distance for me at over 8 months pregnant – no long car rides, no flights, no complaints. We were so spoiled all weekend, I want to go back and do it all over again!
By the end of summer, the last thing I ever want to do is my hair. Unless it’s a special occasion, I’ve been air-drying it and extending the time between washes even more than I normally do. Which is great because it’s been taking a beating all summer long. Hats have been a huge savior with this and on our recent trip to Lake Tahoe I ended up packing three for the long weekend. The one I’m wearing is older and sold out but this one is practically identical!
My first look from our long weekend in Lake Tahoe! We shot this at our hotel, Basecamp South Lake Tahoe, it was really the perfect hotel for us. Between the beautiful beer garden, fire pits where we could roast s’mores every night and the complimentary waffles at breakfast we felt right at home. I especially loved the relaxed vibe of the hotel – it was kind of like an upscale camp, just like the name suggests.
I’ve been holding on to this dress for a couple of months now and felt like Tahoe was the perfect place to debut it. I paired it with my denim jacket, which was a must on a chilly morning. I’d forgotten how cold it gets in the mountains and definitely needed extra layers up there! I’ve also been wearing a lot of hats lately because I’ve been so lazy with my hair.
Just a quick post to share some summer beauty favorites. I try to keep it as low maintenance as possible in the summer. Who wants to spend time under a hair dryer/putting a lot of makeup on when it’s so hot out?! I recently tested a few new products that I ended up loving and wanted to share.
Before I received these oval makeup brushes from My Makeup Brush Set, I’d probably been using the same old set for 5 years. This one is a game changer, I’m really able to blend my makeup and have even been experimenting with contouring…. something I was so intimidated by before.
Last weekend I was able to attend my first Miami Swim Week with KYBOE! The experience was unreal and we really enjoyed every minute of our action packed itinerary. I wanted to share some highlights from the KYOBE! show and weekend. I hadn’t been to Miami in over 10 years but it was just as pretty (and hot) as I remembered. I was obsessed with all the colorful umbrellas on the beach at the hotel beach clubs. Let’s talk about the show… I had no idea how they were going to do a fashion show of only watches, but it did not disappoint. It started with watches coming down a conveyor belt on the center of a runway on mannequin hands, I’d never seen anything like it! Everyone got out their phones and was snapping away. About 30 seconds later models made their way down in swimwear matching the watches. It was so unexpected and fun, much like the weekend.
