5 Dresses I Love for Easter

April 7, 2022 by ashadmin No Comments

It’s crazy to think we’re already into April and Easter is just over a week away! I always love spring dresses and have fun finding an Easter dress every year. This year I’ve found five that I think would be perfect for the day. I’ve actually worn two of them recently, one to a bridal shower and one to a baby shower, and own the other three. I’m probably going to wear the blue maxi for Easter. 🙂

August Top 5

September 9, 2021 by ashadmin No Comments

Zella shorts – I purchased these shorts last month to wear on hot days when I wanted something a little different. They’re super light weight and comfortable. They run a little big and I wish I went down one size.

Wayf dress – I got this dress in the middle of summer and wore it a few times. Love the eyelet detailing and fit was perfect. It’s since sold out but I’m hoping they restock it in black!

Levis jeans – Probably my favorite purchase from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale back in July. These jeans are so flattering and comfortable. They’re not a stretchy material and really hold their form but aren’t too stiff… if that makes sense.

World Market outdoor table – We’ve had this in our backyard for a few years now. It’s such a great size, we can comfortably fit 8 adults around it.

J. Crew cardigan – A constant closet staple for the past few years! I’ve raived about it countless times… and it’s really that good. I have it in both tan and gray but find myself wearing the tan version the most. *it’s currently on sale!

LIFE

July Top 5

August 13, 2021 by ashadmin No Comments

Coming to you very late with my top five from last month. The past few weeks have been a little crazy… it started with a sleep regression/seperation anxiety (Wilder) and then both kids got sick, so my attention has been focused primarily on them and everything else got pushed aside. Fingers crossed that we’re finally on the other side of all that now. Needless to say I am very much looking to school starting in just a couple weeks. I can’t wait for us all to get on a solid routine!

Let’s go back to what this post is supposed to be about… July top five. The Nordstrom sale was a big part of last month and every single one of my top sellers is a direct reflection of that.

Brixton Hat – I LOOOOOVE Brixton hats. The quality is amazing and the price point is perfect. I have several and love how unique but on trend they all are. I’ve had this one for a couple years and was so excited to see it included in the Nordstrom sale – also in this pretty vanilla color. Both are extremely wearable and versatile. I also snagged this one while it was on sale and it’s been my favorite hat this summer.

Clare V. Backpack – I didn’t end up purchasing this but I shared it and everyone went nuts for it. Clare V is another brand I’m a loyal fan of. Her quality is amazing and I always love the new designs every season.

Wayf Top – I tried this top on in both white and leopard and they were drastically different. The white was super stiff and felt cheap but the leopard was amazing! Much better material that was breathable and comfortable. I think this top is perfect for fall. Would be so cute with cat ears for Halloween but also so cute to wear to Thanksgiving dinner.

Levis – My new top favorite jeans! They are so flattering, comfortable and I’ve already worn them a bunch even though it’s the dead of summer. I went with my normal size and the fit is perfect. I’m 5″4 and they hit right at my ankle – love that I don’t have to get them hemmed.

Alo Leggings – These come in a few colors but the gray won me over. I love that they’re neutral but I didn’t have anything else like them in my closet. I went with my true size and they’re super comfortable and stay up!

4 New Years Eve Outfit Ideas

December 27, 2019 by ashadmin 1 Comment

We’re in that weird holiday fog between Christmas and New Year’s where every day blends together and I don’t really know what to do with myself. Truthfully I’ve been pretty lazy and it’s been amazing, but I’m starting to get a little restless and ready to do a little work. Today I wanted to share a blog post with four very different outfit ideas for New Years Eve.

20’s Theme

dress here and here

I got this dress a few months back and tucked it away for a special occasion. It’s such a fun sequin cocktail dress, but my favorite part is the fringe on the bottom. I think it would be perfect if you’re going to any 20’s theme party… or just want something a little different.

Cocktail Attire

dress here and here

This dress is a bit of a splurge but it’s one I’ll have for many years to come. It’s vegan leather and runs pretty TTS. Also comes in a really pretty tealish blue.

Festive but Warm

top, pants

I included this outfit in my holiday party outfit post too, but I the top also works for NYE. If you’re looking for something a little more casual than a dress but still want to be dressed fo the occasion. Love it with these dressy joggers, you could also pair it with black jeans or leather pants.

Comfy on the Couch

joggers

If you’re staying in this year, these joggers are the way to go. They’re so soft (I sleep in them pretty often), have pockets and come in a few fun prints. There’s also a matching hoodie if you want a coordinating set. Honestly a night of comfort sounds like an amazing way to ring in a new decade.

I’m actually still trying to figure out our plans for the night so I have no idea what I’ll be wearing.

Hope you’re having a relaxing holiday week!

4 Holiday Looks for Every Kind of Party

December 12, 2019 by ashadmin 2 Comments

Have you been to any holiday parties yet? We have Jeff’s work party tomorrow night. The other day I opened my closet to try to decide what I’d wear and came up with four different looks. They’re all festive and different from each other… perfect for any kind of holiday party.

Look 1 Little Red Wrap Dress:

dress (here and here)

This dress is SO comfortable! That was my first thought as soon as I put it on. Plus there’s something so flattering about a wrap dress. I love that this one can be worn a few different ways… with or without tights or with over the knee boots.

Look 2 The Fake Jumpsuit:

bodysuit (here and here) joggers

This is actually two pieces but I love that it could almost pass as a jumpsuit. The top is a body suit and the pants are dressy high-waisted joggers.

Look 3 Gold Metallic Top:

top and joggers

I paired this super festive gold metallic top with the same high-waisted joggers. It’s giving me late 80’s/early 90’s vibes… I feel like it’s something my mom would have worn to a holiday party around then (in a good way). Definitely the warmest option.

Look 4 Velvet Maxi Dress:

dress

This dress has been burning a hole in my closet for a few months now… I just haven’t had the place to wear it. If you’re going to a fancier holiday party I think this would be perfect.

I asked everyone to vote for a favorite on Instagram the other day and the results were all over the place. I’m leaning towards wearing look #2. It’s fun and comfortable and I’ll be warm enough (with a jacket), but who knows?! I just might change my mind again before tomorrow.

Thank you so much for reading – hope you’re having a good week!

Group Halloween Costume – Beanie Babies

October 28, 2019 by ashadmin No Comments

Happy Halloween week! Today I’m sharing our family halloween costume… beanie babies! You can really do this with any animal and it’s a great group costume beacause there’s something for everyone. They can be as simple or elaborate as you want. This was such an easy DIY – I used felt to make the tags. It took me 20 minutes to make five and cost about $10.

on me: ears, sweater, jeans

on Crosby:  tutu, wings

on Wilder: frog costume

on Jeff: similar elephant costume

A few months ago I started thinking about a cute family costume and thought I’d have another year before Crosby had a big say in her costume. I was wrong! As soon as I explained Halloween to her and told her she could dress up as anything she wanted she decided she wanted to be a butterfly… and she wanted Wilder to be a frog. I was so proud of her for understanding the concept and coming up with the ideas. I ordered both of their costumes on Amazon.

I was still trying to think how I could tie them together and then the idea for our family beanie baby costume came to me.

I searched for authentic looking beanie baby tags but everything I found was really expensive. I stumbled across these on Amazon and knew I could make them myself with felt. Like I said, it was a super easy process and all five tags ended up costing less than one on Amazon.

In true toddler form, Crosby saw me with the cat ears and whiskers and said she wanted to be a cat and then refused to put her wings on. A few hours later she told me she now wants to be a mermaid for Halloween. #toddlers

on me: ears, sweater, jeans

on Crosby:  tutu, wings

on Wilder: frog costume

on Jeff: similar elephant costume

Hope you have a great week – thank you so much for reading and following!
