Dressing for fall in Southern California is tricky. Really dressing for any season is because you never know what the weather will be like. One day it’s chilly in the 50’s and the next it’s up in the 80’s. At least that’s how it’s been the last few weeks.
Fall dresses are some of my favorite pieces. After a long hot summer of wearing sleeveless dresses I’ve really embraced long sleeved options this season. This green one is a new addition that I can’t wait to wear again. I love layering in the fall, and although it was too hot for a second layer when I last wore it, next time I’ll throw my denim jacket on to change it up.

It’s probably crazy to see me dressed for summer when most of you are bundled up in puffer vests, blanket scarfs and boots, but the weather goes back and forth here. We had a very warm Thanksgiving so the day after Jeff and I decided to take advantage of the weather and walk Mac at the beach. It was almost too hot for that, we probably should have worn our bathing suits.
I received this romper a few weeks back and was so excited to have a chance to wear it. It’s going to be a staple in my wardrobe this spring/summer so it was fun to take it for a little test drive. When we have sporadic summer-like weather rompers are my favorite thing to wear… you can shop some of my favorites below. They’d also be the perfect pieces to pack if you’re going somewhere warm this holiday season.
I’ve been feeling uninspired with my current wardrobe this week. It’s so hard to dress for work when it’s so dark and cold when I get up at 5 am, but then by 12 pm it feels like summer. I’m longing for a little more consistency weather-wise… until then it’s layers. Here’s a fun batch to brighten up your Thursday.
Finally, after my last post, the weather warmed up! This past weekend was so nice it felt like spring, so I was able to dust-off this sundress and take it for a spin. I know it will get cold again, but I’m enjoying the warm temps while they last!
I’ve been under the weather for a few days now and I’m fighting to make it back in the working world by tomorrow. Outside the weather is also doing crazy things and rain is forecasted for tomorrow. Hoping that wearing my bright, shiny turquoise Hunter rain boots will give me the extra energy I need to make it through the day.
