It’s been awhile since I shared a Wedding Wednesday post but since I’m just over two months til the big day I figured I should pick it up again. Side note, if these next two months fly by as the last two I’ll basically be married tomorrow. Also my latest wedding planning post is live on The Knot.

I have most of the big details worked out but one thing I’ve been stuck on are my shoes. Obviously I want to wear a special pair that I wouldn’t wear otherwise but I haven’t seen anything I love. Jeff asked me if it’s mandatory to wear Jimmy Choo’s because all the “real weddings”  we’ve seen pics of have a pair on display.

As you can see from this collection, I’m really into neutral shoes (aside from this yellow pair). I really have my heart set on a strappy rose gold pair I’ve created in my mind but I’m not seeing this anywhere. Let me know if you can point me in that direction!

Happy Christmas Eve! I know it’s a crazy holiday time for all but I’m trying to squeeze in some wedding planning during the Christmas craze. Luckily I have some time off work and can buckle down on my growing to-do list before it gets out of hand. Just when I think I’ve made progress with the planning more tasks pop up from out of no where. My second blog post with The Knot came out yesterday so I thought I’d share more wedding style I’m currently inspired by.

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve given a wedding update and was starting to feel like nothing much had changed… until I looked at my to-do list. So far we’ve booked our photographer, tasted and selected our cake flavors, we’re really close to locking down a florist and I’m about to say yes to the dress! It’s all very exciting, but a little overwhelming.

Since I don’t have any photos of the process so far I thought I’d share more images we’ve been pinning to give you more of an idea of our overall aesthetic.

I’m really excited about the flowers. We are getting married during Peony season and I couldn’t be happier… I’ve also fallen in love with Pampas Grass (as evidence in my Pinterest board devoted to the flowers.)

Next on our list is engagement pictures, which we’re taking next month. Then we need to nail down a DJ, find bridesmaid’s dresses and groomsmen attire… etc. Phew! Less than 8 months to go…!

I feel like we’re finally making some strides with planning. I’m in the process of interviewing florists and we have our photographer locked in… naturally my brain is focused on engagement pictures. I’ve been brainstorming locations, outfits, etc for our shoot next month and thought I’d share my vision. Below are the two outfits I’m seriously considering, the first is a classic look and the second is more boho beach.

My wedding is just a little over eight months away and I have started dress shopping! Even for someone like me who is extremely decisive and has a lot of opinions, it’s such an overwhelming experience. I made some mistakes on my first shopping trip but have picked up a few tips and thought I’d share.

• Do you hair. This may sound silly but I went in to my first appointment with dirty air-dried locks and felt kinda blah. My hair is stick straight and you can bet I won’t be wearing it in its natural state at the wedding, the very least I could have done is spend an extra 20 minutes with my curling iron adding some waves.
• Makeup. I’m not saying you need to be fully glammed out, but just like I said with hair you’ll want to look your best. Maybe wear a pretty lipstick or spend a few extra minutes with your mascara wand or plucking your eyebrows… anything!
• Wear or bring the proper under garments. Luckily I knew this going in and came prepared with seamless underwear and my favorite backless strapless bra.
• Bring a pair of heels the same height you think you’ll wear at your wedding. Trying on gown barefoot is not ideal and doesn’t give you the best impression. If you’re wearing flats you probably don’t need to worry about this but it never helps to have a pretty pair of shoes to compliment your dress.

I’ve always loved wearing a crisp white dress all year round but now that I’m engaged I have even more reason to. This one with it’s feminine lace details is the perfect dress for all these fun occasions like the engagement party, engagement pictures, showers or even the rehearsal dinner.
