2020 was the year that really changed the way I shop. Instead of buying trendy stand out pieces I've gone back to basics and curated a wardrobe of staples that I reach for over and over again. I found the holes in my closet and filled them with what I know I need and will wear. A lot of last year was spent in leggings and lounge wear, but I found just by having the right items getting dressed was fun. This year is starting out the same - meaning I'm not shopping for dresses, heels, or statement-y pieces. Which is why I wanted to start this series sharing staples I've chosen for the month and plan to style multiple ways.
It's officially boot season! One of my favorite boot trends right now are combat boots... or military/army whatever you want to call them. I've been really into the combat boot comeback the past few years. When I was in 7th grade I saved up money babysitting to buy my first pair of Dr. Martens boots. I collected a few pairs back then (late 90's) that I held onto and still wear sometimes! Today I want to share a roundup of combat boots I'm loving at various price points.
Over the weekend we had our first taste of fall weather this year. It was a nice change from the crazy heat we've been experiencing. Naturally that got me thinking ahead to fall and winter fashion... specifically outer wear. Usually at the start of a season I like to take inventory in my wardrobe to see what holes I need to fill. Today I want to talk about my favorite outer wear trends right now.
Tis the season… to buy matching family pajamas! I know, I know… it’s not even Halloween yet but these things go fast! Usually by mid-November lots of sizes are sold out, so if you’re thinking about family jammies, now is the time to buy.
Last year we wore these red and white rugby striped sets and they’re back in stock (baby, toddler, men’s, women’s, kid’s). They’re classic and perfect for any gender. The come in one pieces for babies and two pieces for toddlers (12 months and up). I’m thinking about ordering Crosby and Wilder each a new pair and wearing them again this year. Mackie could even get in on it and wear Crosby’s 2T top from last year. 🙂 continue reading
Today I want to talk about one of my favorite topics... jeans! Ha. But really, I love them and basically live in them in the cooler months. When I was pregnant (both times) I missed them soo much. Maternity jeans are HARD, but that's a whole other topic. Anyway, today I want to share and compare my two favorite pairs of high-waisted denim.
