My favorite thing to wear when it’s hot outside is a pair of denim shorts. They’re so versatile and I live in them all summer long. It’s been pretty warm lately and I’ve loved bringing them back out. The weekend before I had Crosby we had a major heat wave and I was so upset none of my shorts fit me. Since I wasn’t noticeably pregnant in the summer I didn’t have to invest in any maternity shorts. But after I had her I was so excited to get back into them and haven’t really wanted to take them off since!
There are so many great pairs in stores right now and I wanted to share my favorites. I think One Teaspoon makes a really flattering cut with their Bandits. The hem goes diagonally across your thigh and has a way of elongating and slimming your legs. They’re a bit on the pricey side (right around $100) but I think they’re worth every penny.
I popped into Nordstrom yesterday to try and find a new pair and ended up getting these. With their similar hem they’re a great alternative to One Teaspoon at about half the cost. I also tried this pair and loved them. These “mom shorts” are high-waisted and provide a bit more coverage than the average pair of cutoffs. I usually like to size up one size with denim shorts. It keeps them from being too tight and too short.
