Summer is winding down but we’re still trying to make the most of it. I actually haven’t talked about this very much the blog, but I’m going back to work (part-time) in just a couple of weeks, so I’m really trying to squeeze in every last bit of fun and family time.I’ve been so busy lately that I kind of lost track of time, I didn’t even realize Labor Day was last weekend until a few days before! #newmomlife But once I did Jeff and I decided to do a little “daycation” at The Resort at Pelican Hill.

Pelican Hill is just down the coast from us but feels so much further away. It’s SO peaceful and remote but actually really accessible to visit even if you’re not staying there. About a week ago Jeff and I had a little date night and got to explore the resort and learned so many cool things about it.

The resort grounds are gorgeous, it’s perched high up on a hillside with the best ocean views. But my favorite place to take in the view is from the gorgeous Coliseum Pool. The pool is pretty amazing itself, it’s a huge circular pool made up of over a million hand-cut mosaic tiles.

For our “daycation” we parked it in a poolside cabana all day. It was a cloudy day, a nice break from the scorching heat we’d had the few days before. The cabanas are awesome and you don’t have to a guest at the hotel to book them. We also loved that they’re a level higher than the pool, so you get the best views but have a little more privacy.

They gave Crosby the sweetest little Pelican stuffed animal that she reached for right away! She had so much fun showing off in her swimsuit, swimming and even tried guacamole for the first time… of course, she loved it.

Thanks Pelican Hill for having us and for being our new home away from home. We can’t stay away…  we’re going back for happy hour this week!
