One question I get asked all the time is what to wear to a (insert current season) wedding. I think most of us know the basic “rules,” but just in case here’s a little refresher:

  1. Absolutely NO white, cream, ivory, beige, or anything that will photograph like any of those colors. Unless you want to be the girl all the bridesmaids are talking about and shooting daggers at all night. I recently saw a photo from a wedding a friend went to of a guest in a long light beige lace dress and about lost it. Beige + lace? Just no. I should mention that this rule applies to any related event: bachelorette parties, showers, engagement parties, etc. Let the bride have her white moment.
  2. Nothing too attention seeking. Again, this is the bride’s day and anything you can do to not distract from that is usually a good idea. Save those dresses for a fun girl’s night.

That’s really it! Which means there are still so many options you can roll with.

I love jewel tones and fun prints for fall. If you’re going to a black tie wedding, I think this would be a stunning dress to wear. I’ll link all of my fall favorites below.

I thought this dress would be perfect for a fall wedding. It is lace but in those deep jewel tones that make it a really pretty option. I love the long sleeves and the ruffles at the bottom. If I went to a wedding this fall, this is for sure what I’d wear.

Since I loved this dress so much I got it in the top version too. I’m thinking of wearing it to a holiday party with jeans and OTK boots.
