A few months ago I did a post on what to wear to a fall/winter wedding along with some standard rules about wedding wear in general. I thought I’d turn this into a seasonal series and now I’m back with a look I think would be perfect for a spring wedding.

If you need a refresher on those rules:

  1. Don’t wear white. Don’t wear ivory. Don’t wear anything that might look/photograph white. Even a really light blush might look white in photos. Stay away from anything too light in color just to be safe.
  2. Don’t wear anything that screams “Look at me!” Like a really revealing dress or something you wouldn’t be comfortable dancing in front of your grandpa in. I don’t know if there’s ever a place for that, but this isn’t it.

Other than that you’re good to go. Be courteous of the bride and groom. If they took the time to call out a dress code on their invitations, stick to that.

Spring weddings might be my favorite, but I’m a little bias. We got married in the middle of June which is still technically spring, even though it seems more like summer. When I hear about a spring wedding my mind gravitates towards flowy dresses, like this coral maxi dress. Color wise, I think as long as you don’t pick something too light or too dark you’ll be set. Anything mixing pastel colors might leave you looking like an easter egg. Just some food for thought.

A few other dresses I think would be perfect are this one, this one and this one.
