My road to contact lenses started years ago, decades really. In second grade something came over me and I decided I wanted reading glasses as an accessory. Somehow I successfully failed an eye exam and left with lavender reading glasses that had a rhinestone butterfly in the corner. Did I need those glasses? Absolutely not. Now I can’t be sure that wearing reading glasses off and on in elementary school lead to me needing them to see the white board in class in high school, but I have a feeling it didn’t help. My biggest hurdle was learning to put them in but once I mastered that after about a week, I didn’t like that I could feel them all the time, especially towards the end of the month. I scheduled a follow-up appointment to ask the doctor some questions about what I was experiencing. If it was normal to feel the contacts in my eyes at all times. I also really wanted to know what other options I had and if there was another brand they thought would be better for me.
