It’s officially boot season! One of my favorite boot trends right now are combat boots… or military/army whatever you want to call them. I’ve been really into the combat boot comeback the past few years. When I was in 7th grade I saved up money babysitting to buy my first pair of Dr. Martens boots. I collected a few pairs back then (late 90’s) that I held onto and still wear sometimes! Today I want to share a roundup of combat boots I’m loving at various price points.

We’re taking family photos next week and I’m so excited. We haven’t taken photos of the four of us with a photographer in over a year and it’s crazy how much bigger the kids are now. Usually once we hit Halloween the rest of the year flies by, I’m counting on that to happen even though the holidays are all going to be a little different this year. As a mom of two toddlers in 2020 it’s so hard to stay organized with everything. Some days I feel like I have it all together. I get up early to get ready and drink coffee before the kids get up, breakfast goes smoothly, we head out on an outing in the morning and seamlessly make it to nap time. Other days (these seem to happen more often) I feel like I’m constantly trying to play catch up. Re-heating my coffee a few times, cleaning up constant messes, not making it out of my pjs before noon and realizing I we’re out of diapers/laundry detergent/sunblock/wipes, etc even though I just went shopping the day before.

A few weeks ago I mentioned things I was excited to wear in the fall. One of them was this collarless sweater blazer from J. Crew. As soon as I saw it I knew it would be a great staple piece, not just for fall, but to wear all year. It’s incredibly flattering and so versatile. It comes in this pretty khaki and 4 other colors too. It’s definitely not sweater weather here yet, but in the coming weeks we’ll start to have slightly cooler mornings and nights and I know I’ll reach for this over and over. I got a jumpstart on wearing it and styled it three different ways.

I realized the other day it was six months ago we went into lockdown and the world shut down. Half a year! While we’re not in an extreme lockdown situation anymore, life has definitely changed. Neither of my kids have been to a store or restaurant since the beginning of March and we are limiting our outings as well. That being said there are three things I’ve loved having while quarantining at home and will continue to use moving forward.
