Last month my two best friends, mom, future mother-in-law and a couple other friends all helped through a bridal shower for me. It was my first shower and every detail was perfect. They all know me so well and got so creative with the pineapple and flamingo theme. I wish I’d taken more pictures but I was too mesmerized by all their touches.

The pineapple looking appetizer up there? It was a delicious goat cheese dip garnished with pecans and a real pineapple top. The cake tasted as good as it looked, which is saying a lot because I’m not really a cake person. Seriously… my wedding cake has a lot to live up to. continue reading

It’s been awhile since I shared a Wedding Wednesday post but since I’m just over two months til the big day I figured I should pick it up again. Side note, if these next two months fly by as the last two I’ll basically be married tomorrow. Also my latest wedding planning post is live on The Knot.

I have most of the big details worked out but one thing I’ve been stuck on are my shoes. Obviously I want to wear a special pair that I wouldn’t wear otherwise but I haven’t seen anything I love. Jeff asked me if it’s mandatory to wear Jimmy Choo’s because all the “real weddings”  we’ve seen pics of have a pair on display. continue reading

I’ve been on a serious hunt for wedding shoes this month. Ideally I want something feminine and somewhat sparkly with a heel that I can still dance in. Sounds easy enough, right? Wrong! I’m not finding “the one” anywhere.

The good news is that along the way I found some amazing shoes to share during my search. And can we stop for a minute and compare the shoes below? The Steve Madden Stecy and Stuart Weitzman Nudist are nearly identical. I’ve actually worn both styles and think Steve Madden’s are more comfortable. Just some food for thought… continue reading

At this point in the game I have all the major things nailed down and find myself thinking about white dresses. The fun ones to wear to showers, the bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner and anything else that might pop up. I feel like I’ve seen just about every one that’s currently online . This one is a contender for the bachelorette, this one for a shower and I just love this one. I thought I’d share more of my favorites in case you’re in a similar situation.

Happy Christmas Eve! I know it’s a crazy holiday time for all but I’m trying to squeeze in some wedding planning during the Christmas craze. Luckily I have some time off work and can buckle down on my growing to-do list before it gets out of hand. Just when I think I’ve made progress with the planning more tasks pop up from out of no where. My second blog post with The Knot came out yesterday so I thought I’d share more wedding style I’m currently inspired by.

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve given a wedding update and was starting to feel like nothing much had changed… until I looked at my to-do list. So far we’ve booked our photographer, tasted and selected our cake flavors, we’re really close to locking down a florist and I’m about to say yes to the dress! It’s all very exciting, but a little overwhelming.
