Until recently I used my bar cart less as a bar and more of a booze storage place. It housed all of our bottles of alcohol. I never really took on the task of styling it or making it functional.

A few months ago, I brought it outside and used it as a bar at Crosby’s Birthday party. In doing so I removed all the liquor bottles and have since loved how minimal it is. It’s sat pretty empty ever since and with summer coming, I knew it was the perfect time to give it a little makeover.

Other than the obvious (booze) these are my favorite pieces to style a bar cart:

Fresh flowers

Bar ware/accessories – cocktail shaker, pitchers, cocktail glasses, ice buckets… you name it. But keep it clean.

Lemons/limes – for said cocktails

Pretty decanters

Cookbooks or cocktail books – always a cute touch and nice to stack and add height.

Your favorite/most used bottles of booze – I went with Macallan (Jeff’s fav), Aperol (for my current favorite drink, the Aperol Spritz) and a fun rum for summer cocktails.

Other items I like to use:

Paper straws

Mini alcohol bottles

Cocktail napkins

Candles
