Happy Cyber Monday! Did you score anything amazing on a Black Friday discount? Don’t worry, if you didn’t, there are so many great sales today! After a restful weekend of eating too much and decorating for Christmas, I’m using today to stock up on gifts and some things we need for baby girl.
Happy Friday! I’m so excited to have a lazy weekend and tackle some house projects that have been looming over us for awhile now. Like hopefully hanging this chair!
But before we dive into that I wanted to share a house photo. This is the living room section of our great room. When we bought the house this was actually a bedroom, but we wanted a big open room so we knocked the (load bearing) wall down and opened it up. We are still waiting on a built-in to go inside the old closet.
I’ve been wanting to upgrade our coffee table for a long time. I got our current one over five years ago when I bought my condo. The thing I hate about it is it’s glass top. I’m constantly wiping it down with windex and it never feels clean. Jeff wants to build us a new one eventually (once he’s finished with several other projects), so for now we’re living with it. West Elm had one I loved last year, but it’s not available any more. I love the idea of a bean shaped one similar to this one but can’t decide if I want a marble or wood topper.
I’m also on the hunt for a rug. For some reason I’m being super indecisive about it, which isn’t like me at all. I know I want something that compliments the space but I’m having a hard time narrowing it down. I love this one but I’m not sure if it’s too blue for the room. This is another contender, I’m just not sure how it will hold up.
Hope you have a great weekend – thanks for reading!
Happy Friday! Was it just me, or was this week extra long? I’m kicking off the weekend with a little home post. Our house is still being renovated so I thought I’d share one of my current inspiration boards for our kitchen nook.
We already have the table and two of these chairs, but need some finishing touches to spruce it up. The light fixture that was there when we bought the house was dated and not our taste, so I’ve been searching for a new one. I have my eyes on a few right now.. this copper pendant is so pretty and I love how it looks with this rug. But I’m also loving this one. What do you think?!
Thanks for reading – enjoy your weekend!
It’s been a crazy busy past few months and if you’ve been following me on instagram or snapchat (ashnfashn) you might have seen it’s because we bought a house! We started looking shortly after we got married last summer and looked at a lot of houses. So many that if you’re in the market in the Orange County area, let me know so I can give you all the tips I picked up.
After many months, we finally agreed on one and plugged the trigger. We closed right before Thanksgiving and moved in that weekend. Side note: not an ideal time to move.
We’re not really “living” in the house yet. We’re in the middle of a full renovation and have been
camping glamping in our master suite for the past month plus. All of our belongings except for a few bedroom pieces are stored away and our house is a dusty, concrete mess.
Hopefully we will be done with the renos in the next month or so. I miss my stuff and having a normal life… not to mention a husband who isn’t consumed by projects! Fingers crossed it’s sooner than later.
Because this is like the most glamorous post I’ve ever written (ha), I wanted to share some decor inspiration too.
I’ll be sharing more of this process as we make more progress. Thank you so much for reading and following this fun new chapter.
Since we moved, over three months ago, we’ve been working on getting everything in just the right place. The last room we have left to finish is actually our bedroom. We already had the big ticket items but need several pieces to really finish the room. I’ve done so much shopping online… West Elm, Lulu & Georgia and Amazon have been my go-to places for easy inspiration.
