I'm so excited to kick off my first week of my new monthly staple series. This is something I've been wanting to start for awhile but decided to wait until the new year to really dive in. Each week I will choose one of my monthly staples to style five ways. First up is the Madewell York Half-Zip Sweater. I love this sweater, it's such a great wardrobe staple for winter. It comes in two other colors (gray and amber) and I honestly think they're all equally versatile. I went with the blush because not only do I love the color, but I thought it would be fun to style with so much - winter whites, blacks, jeans, etc.

I know a lot of you are probably thinking it’s way to early for white denim. Well calm down! It’s probably my favorite time to break out the white jeans because they make more of a statement. I love how clean and crisp they look in the winter, even against my pale skin. Oh how I miss my summer tan…

Anyway.

I stuck to a soft color pallet here with this sweater in blush and my favorite heels, but I also love pairing them with darker pieces to really POP! Black jeans can be so tired and predictable this time of year. Give them a break, dust off your whites and live a little. 🙂 continue reading

The sneaker trend has been running wild for a few years but I just wasn’t on board. Something about it reminded me of tourists at Disneyland. Do you know what I’m saying? But when I came face to face with these babies my whole game was changed. Not only are the super comfy, (New Balance does it right) but they’re my wedding colors and that makes working out dressing like I’m working out easy and effortless. continue reading

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m all about capes this season. I just can’t get enough. I paired this brown one over my favorite blush sweater on a particularly gray day. Side note: I’ve always spelled gray with an “A” instead of an “E” – how do you spell it?

I think I could wear blush and white everyday and not get bored. There’s something calming about these colors and I always love a neutral pallet. It also gives you some wiggle room if you want to go wild with accessories. I’ve been on a “less is more” wave for awhile but I’m not opposed to some fun flair. 🙂 continue reading
