I’ve been wearing my favorite cardigan, which is really more of a coatigan (coat + cardigan) weekly since early Fall. I love the fit and structure of it and it’s a nice layer on a cooler day but works basically all year – in Southern California, at least. It comes in a few different neutral colors – I have it in both camel and gray, but wear the camel colored one a little more. It’s often on sale – right now it’s 15% off with code EXTRA. I wanted to share five different ways I’ve been wearing it this spring.
Just a quick post to share my new bedding that I’m obsessed with from Boll and Branch + a discount code for 20% off that’s good until the end of the month. We have the signature sheet set in dune, the prettiest sandy beige, and the windowpane duvet set in white. They’re both made of 100% organic cotton and are so comfortable and luxe. I love the contrast of the darker beige sheets against the bright white duvet. I’m also contemplating ordering a waffle blanket to fold at the end of the bed.
We previously had a duvet cover with buttons and the bottom and they kept popping off when we’d tuck it into our bed frame. It was so annoying! I love that this one has a secret zipper that’s hidden away and runs across the whole bottom. It also makes taking it on and off a lot easier.
Boll and Branch gave me a 20% off discount code (ASHLEYT20) that’s good for anything on their site through the end of the month. I’m super impressed with their bedding and one of my friends was telling me how much she loves their towels.
One of my favorite parts of the day is my nighttime skincare routine. Is that weird? It’s one of the only 15 minute periods of time I get with no interruptions or distractions and it is very peaceful. I do it once the kids are down for the night before Jeff and I unwind watching a show. Did you know there’s a correct order for applying skincare? I recently learned about it and realized I’d been doing a few steps out of order for years! Here’s the correct breakdown:
This is hands down my favorite cleansing balm (and I’ve used a bunch!) I apply to a dry face and rinse with water. It feels like butter and it melts off my makeup before I wash my face.
I started using these serum capsules a couple months ago and LOVE them. My skin has looked fresher and brighter and felt softer.
Retinol (2x a week)
This is the one I’ve used for over a year. I’m also a fan of these retinol alternative face drops.
This one is from a drug store brand I started using a few months ago – it has amazing reviews.
A few notes –
ASHLEYJACKEL gets you 15% off all Tula products.
I use this facial steamer after I double cleanse probably 5 nights a week for anywhere from 2-10 minutes.
I keep this face cleansing brush in my shower and use it at least once a week – it really cleanses and exfoliates.
We survived another month of 2020 and now we’re really in the homestretch. I’m not sure how a year that feels so slow can still be moving this fast, but here we are! I definitely didn’t get much holiday shopping done during the cyber sales but I will be buckling down on that soon. In the meantime, it’s the first of the month which means it’s time to share my top 5 best sellers from last month.
J. Crew Collarless Sweater Blazer – For the third month in a row, the coatigan makes the list. I’m happy to see everyone is liking this cardi as much as I do! It’s such a great staple and it goes on sale pretty regularly (still 50% off today). I have it in camel and gray and wear them both frequently.
Geometry Towels – My absolute favorite dish towels! These were on sale for 15% off over the weekend + you were able to stack my discount code (ASHNFASHN15) for an additional 15% off. That sale is over now, but my discount code always works. They sold so many they’re not backordered until the middle of January! They make the best gifts, I stocked up so I can have them on hand for teachers, neighbors, etc.
Black Outdoor Bar Stools – After we completed our outdoor bar at the end of summer I knew we needed stools for the space. I found these on Wayfair and love them! They’re metal and can be cleaned so easily, but they’re still light enough to move around.
Spanx Faux Leather Leggings – These leggings are so flattering and really hold everything in. They’re a bit pricey but go on sale a couple times a year. I was lucky enough to snag them last year during the cyber week sale and have been so happy with them. I wore them weekly last winter and so much during the first few months of quarantine.
Baby Boy Cardigan – I purchased this cardi for Wilder at H&M back in October for family photos and die over how cute he looks in it. I’ve since gone back for the darker gray one as well so he can wear them all fall and winter. They’re comfy (sweatshirt material) but run really big. He’s 19 months and wears a 9-12 month for reference.
Happy Monday! I can’t believe it’s Thanksgiving week… and even though the holiday will be different for so many this year (my family included), I know it will still be a nice day. Thanksgiving also marks the start of a crazy cyber week (black Friday, cyber Monday, etc). It seems like every year it starts earlier and earlier and get more intense. Part of my job is to highlight sales and be a resource for anyone looking for them. I’m sharing deals on things I love that I think you’ll like too. However, that said I don’t want anyone to feel pressured or like you “have” to buy things. I really don’t want anyone to feel bad if they are not in a position to spend right now. What matters most, especially right now, is health. These are all just material things that do not matter in the grand scheme of things.
Sorry for the rant, it’s just important for me to be transparent – this year more than ever.
I started using Elemis almost 4 years ago when I was pregnant with Crosby and really fell in love with their products. My #1 holy grail from them is their pro-collagen cleansing balm. I’m a big fan of double cleansing and have tried just about every cleansing balm on the market and nothing compares to this one. It really melts your makeup off and cleanses your skin. I also think their gift sets are worth checking out if you’re looking for gifts for beauty lovers – or maybe just a kit to try out some of their products.
Murad is another brand I’ve loyally used for years. I really love their retinol line for anti-aging products. Specifically this serum and eye cream. I’m also a big fan of their sunscreen and vitamin c line. They also have some really fun holiday sets.
I’ve talked about the Vanity Planet Aira facial steamer at length in the past so I won’t be too redundant other than mention how much I love this device. It feels like a luxe treat for my skin that I can quickly do in my own bathroom. I think it would be an amazing gift. I’m also a big fan of their cleansing brush.
Thank you so much for reading – hope you have a great start to your Thanksgiving week.
2020 has definitely been the year of the home. With so much time spent inside I’ve been hyper focused on home goods. One night while mindlessly scrolling instagram a few months back I stopped at an ad for Geometry dishtowels. Something about the beautiful patterns and colors got my attention so I clicked over to the account and immediately purchased a few. Once I got the towels they were even better than I thought. They’re made of this really soft microfiber that is so absorbent and the prints are even prettier in person.
Fast forward a few months and I’m even more hooked. I shared Geometry on instagram and had the brand reach out and ask if they could send me more. Plus they gave me a discount code to share for 15% off – ASHNFASHN15.
I have them in my kitchen and bathrooms and have had so much fun mixing up the prints. The Halloween collection is so fun, I have a feeling they’ll have an amazing selection for the holidays too.
I’ve been buying more to have on hand for gifts this holiday season. They’re also perfect for teacher gifts or housewarming – just add a bottle of wine!
