Getting ready for work in the morning sometimes gets frustrating. It’s early (5 am) so I’m tired and don’t want to put much thought into what I’m wearing. My solution lately has been to reach for a dress. They instantly make me feel put together and give me enough energy to start my long drive to work. This fall I’m loving grays, cape detailing, and cold shoulders.
How crazy is it that it’s already September? And even crazier that there are only a few months left in the year! Hope you all had a good holiday weekend, I spent mine beginning the wedding venue hunt, which is much harder than I ever imagined!
Anyway, I’ve always loved mixing floral print and seersucker. It’s fresh and perfect for late summer (it’s still summer) and even early fall. I’ve been thinking about other ways to style this Shabby Apple sweater. I’ll edge it up with a leather skirt in the fall and pair it with a tweed skirt and tights in the winter. I love versatile pieces like this. continue reading
It’s the second half of the summer (sad I know) so naturally we’re all thinking ahead to fall fashion. I’ve mentioned this before but it’s so hard for me to buy colder weather wear while I’m still sweating. I’ve found the perfect, wear now and later, solution… the kimono. I’ve loved these for a few seasons now. They’re perfect with cutoffs and a tank, over a short dress, paired with skinny jeans or flares or my favorite way, as a coverup. Luckily they’re here to stay and will be just as cute with ankle boots once there are leaves on the ground… if you live somewhere with fall foliage that is. continue reading
For the last week I’ve been bombarded with Nordstrom Anniversary Sale posts and really wasn’t going to do one. Not because they don’t always have great deals but because it’s so hard for me to justify a fall/winter purchase when all I want to wear is a bikini and cutoffs. Over the weekend I popped into Nordstrom for this bra (side note, if you don’t already have this you need it) and these candles. While I was there I found several things that work into my wardrobe all year round.
It’s crazy how one accessory, like a hat, can completely change your look. This particular floppy felt hat frames my face and keeps me warm on cool LA days. I’ve been wearing a lot more head accessories (you’ll see more this week) and love the elements they add to an outfit. Also… let’s talk about these wine colored faux leather panel pants. I scooped them up at Zara last week and have worn them every other day since. They’re comfortable, flattering and the perfect finishing touch on a casual holiday outfit. continue reading
