Happy Friday! Coming off a vacation and going back to work is never easy, even when it’s just a quick weekend getaway. But we made it to the weekend and I’m excited for a couple days with nothing on the schedule. I took a bunch of pictures in Palm Springs and wanted to share. It’s one of my favorite places to relax so I usually only pack the basics. Coverups and cutoffs were pretty much on repeat all weekend.

I actually received a few new coverups towards the end of the summer and never got a chance to wear them. This red tasseled one from Eberjey is so soft and perfect for pool side lounging and I’m just as obsessed with this embroidered one from Chicwish.

I know this outfit probably seems more spring or summer than fall, but when in Palm Springs! I couldn’t resist pulling out this white bell sleeved top for a visit to The Saguaro one morning. I got the top so late in the summer and haven’t really had a chance to wear it. That was kind of my clothing theme for the weekend, a summer clothes “last chance.” Like these coverups (one, two, there) and loved wearing them around the pool. continue reading

Happy first (official) day of summer! This has always been my favorite season and I have a closet full of clothes that reflect that. I decided to wear this maxi dress to dinner to celebrate our anniversary last weekend at La Quinta Resort. I felt so bridal in it… just 52 weeks after our wedding. I love the lace and cutout details and managed to not spill anything on it during our whole dinner at Morgans #victory.

I think this dress would be perfect to wear to your rehearsal dinner if you’re a bride. I wore something kind of similar to ours and loved it. continue reading

Sundresses are a main staple for me in the summer. I am always searching for a new one to add to the mix. It’s becoming obvious that palm print is a trend I can’t get enough of. It always reminds me of Palm Springs, which is fitting to wear in the desert. I wore this dress to breakfast on Saturday at La Quinta before changing into a swimsuit for the rest of the day.

I was so excited to find this hat at Nordstrom. At under $30 it’s affordable and so fun for summer. Even better, it disguises messy hair after a day at the pool or beach. continue reading

Over the weekend we headed out to the La Quinta Resort in the desert to celebrate our first anniversary. Neither one of us had ever been there and we were so impressed, it’s such a fun place that we can’t wait to go back to. A weekend just isn’t enough! Like I mentioned before, we wanted to pick a place with pretty much guaranteed sunshine and we had just that! If we had stayed near the beach we would not have been so lucky. #JuneGloom

Anyway… this tote was pretty much the first thing I packed and I will be using it so much this summer! It’s big enough to stash sun block, my kindle, a hair brush and so much more to take to the beach or pool. And just as chic to tote around resort style. This dress matched the spanish style of the resort perfectly… and was super comfortable after snacking all day. continue reading

Can you tell we’re headed somewhere warm? We didn’t want to risk being dissapointed by June Gloom so we picked a place with almost guaranteed sunshine. I can’t wait to get some sun in this bikini and wear this dress to dinner! continue reading
