I think this dress is the solution to my late summer wardrobe blues. I’ve been so sick of everything in my closet, but not wanting to get new summer things or jump right into fall. Luckily this dress entered my life as the perfect transition piece. I styled it a little more fall here with my favorite booties and felt hat but I know I’ll be wearing it in a summer-y way too.

A couple months ago I debuted these beauties I designed with Shoes of Prey. I’ve had a few of you ask questions so I wanted to explain the process a little more.

Anyone can design they’re own pair by following the simple steps on the website. It’s so fun to take control and there are endless possibilities for your perfect shoe. Gold, snakeskin and tassels might seem like a lot for one pair of shoe, but when you have full creative control I say go for it! More is more.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m all about capes this season. I just can’t get enough. I paired this brown one over my favorite blush sweater on a particularly gray day. Side note: I’ve always spelled gray with an “A” instead of an “E” – how do you spell it?

I think I could wear blush and white everyday and not get bored. There’s something calming about these colors and I always love a neutral pallet. It also gives you some wiggle room if you want to go wild with accessories. I’ve been on a “less is more” wave for awhile but I’m not opposed to some fun flair. 🙂 continue reading

When it comes to nail polish, I love changing it up. But for the last few weeks I’ve been stuck on a new neutral shade, Essie “Sand Tropez.” This soft gray is perfect for every season but especially fall. There’s nothing better than a muted mani right now, if you ask me.

A basic tee and jeans are my go-tos whenever I’m in an outfit funk, but what jazzes them up are bright accessories. I always turn to statement necklace, bracelets and fun colors for my outfit finishing touches. These especially helped lift my mood and keep my look feel seasonally appropriate on this overly gloomy day.

I was so excited to take these pics. But once I saw them I was like, “ughhh.” It was the wrong time of day with the sun shinning directly over my head turning the best setting into not the best set of photos. So, while most of them will never see the light of day I’m moving forward with a few… there’s always next time Balboa Island. Sometimes I feel like it’s my first time doing this.
