Thursday, Valentine’s Day, Topshop finally opened it’s doors at the Grove in Hollywood. I’d been waiting for them to make their way to the west coast for so long and was ecstatic they landed in Los Angeles. Anyway, that day my boss asked me to host a segment on their arrival in LA and even though I didn’t have any makeup or hair products on me (other than what I put on before I left the house), I went for it.

Since I started working in the entertainment industry, over five and a half years ago, I have covered more red carpet events than I can count. They are all extremely fun but a lot of work. After each one I feel like I’ve put in a day’s work at a construction site, I previously wrote a little bit about my job here. Awards season is like that times 1000. Not to mention the countless events in the middle. The official kick off for the 2013 awards season was the People’s Choice Awards last Wednesday night and I was smack dab in the middle of the red carpet. Every other Sunday between the beginning of January until the end of February I either go into the office and settle in for a long afternoon/night producing videos or get dressed up and make my way to one of the many theaters or hotels in Los Angeles that have the privledge to call an awards show home. continue reading
I’m happiest when I’m insanely busy. Sure I value my downtime and can be a homebody, but there’s something about the rush of a packed (but organized) schedule and the high that comes from it that I can’t describe.
My new job has kept me very occupied, I’m a producer of fashion and pop culture segments for the website Celebuzz. Last week I had a day that was booked to the minute. I started with a fun interview with Brooke Burke, who partnered with Brita to bring filtered water bottles to schools. After Brooke I headed to a hair salon to shoot a fall hair trends segment and then to the famous Regent Beverly Wilshire, or as I call it the “Pretty Woman” hotel for a Stella & Dot breast cancer event and holiday preview.
