June is usually pretty gloomy, but it's been an abnormally long month of gloom around here. I think we've only seen the sun a handful of times. We are more than ready for some warmth and sunshine right now, but that didn't stop us from heading out on a friend's boat last night.
We’re in the thick of June Gloom over here, I don’t think I’ve seen the sun in at least a week. Crosby and I are starting to get a little antsy… home girl wants to wear her newborn size summer clothes before she grows out of them! And do you know how hard it is to find sweaters or jackets to fit a newborn? Impossible! But baby aside, I’m starting to look ahead for new pieces to wear this summer. Plus my Birthday is coming up in a couple weeks 🙂continue reading
Over the weekend we headed out to the La Quinta Resort in the desert to celebrate our first anniversary. Neither one of us had ever been there and we were so impressed, it’s such a fun place that we can’t wait to go back to. A weekend just isn’t enough! Like I mentioned before, we wanted to pick a place with pretty much guaranteed sunshine and we had just that! If we had stayed near the beach we would not have been so lucky. #JuneGloom
Anyway… this tote was pretty much the first thing I packed and I will be using it so much this summer! It’s big enough to stash sun block, my kindle, a hair brush and so much more to take to the beach or pool. And just as chic to tote around resort style. This dress matched the spanish style of the resort perfectly… and was super comfortable after snacking all day.continue reading
Happy hump day! Is it just me or do weeks go by extra slow when you’re really looking forward to the weekend? This weekend Jeff and I are off on a little anniversary getaway. Isn’t it crazy we’ve almost been married a year?! In preparation for our weekend I put together a little round up of what I’m packing and what I wish I was packing… it’s all the same, right?
Can you tell we’re headed somewhere warm? We didn’t want to risk being dissapointed by June Gloom so we picked a place with almost guaranteed sunshine. I can’t wait to get some sun in this bikini and wear this dress to dinner!continue reading
First off, how is it already June?! It’s so crazy to think that I’m getting married in less than two weeks now!
I told you I’d be living in rompers and espadrilles this summer. It’s just such a natural combo for me. This romper is another that’s just as easy to dress up as it is to dress down. I’m somewhere in the middle here, but swap my espadrilles for nude heels and lose the jacket and it would be the perfect look for a night out. Or, add flip flops and you’re even more casual and summer ready.continue reading
We all know how important it is to have piece in our closet we can throw on any time something pops up and feel amazing. Staples that we grow to rely on that carry from year to year and season to season. To many, that item is a little black dress. While I do see the importance for an LBD I tend to gravitate more towards the lighter version, or as I call them LWD’s.
Like an LBD they are a blank canvas for you to style however your mood strikes. On this particular day we were experiencing a lot of wind and a little June Gloom (everyone in Southern California knows what I’m talking about) but I still wanted to feel beachy and summery. I jazzed up my white dress with blue accessories and my favorite rose gold iphone case, which helped me to warm up on this windy gloomy day.continue reading
