For day two of Lucky Fabb I went with this classic, preppy chic, all American look in J. Crew and Kate Spade. I love reds with turquoise so I instantly thought to pair this melon dress with the chunky turquoise necklace and the Pour la Victoire sandals were so comfortable the first day, I had to wear them again. If you missed it, here’s what I wore to day one.
The second day we got to choose who we wanted to hear speak in smaller break out sessions. I learned so much and left with the most massive duffle bag filled with swag. If you get a chance, I really recommend attending Lucky FABB or a similar conference.
A few months back I went on a peplum binge and scooped up everything pep I came across. H&M kept this trend fully stocked and this was my choice for perfect spring top. The best part? It was under $13. I’ve worn it at least four times the past two months, which means it’s cost me a little more than $3 a wear. Love that!
My friend Nikki from Bedazzles After Dark tagged me in a five things post. So here are five things you (probably) don’t know about me.
- I met Britney Spears just hours before she married Jason Alexander in Vegas back in 2004. She was at the same restaurant in the Palms as my friends and I so a few of us went over to talk to her. I was a majorly star-struck 19-year-old and she couldn’t have been nicer!
- When I was a kid I would spend hours drawing floor plans of houses. I thought I wanted to be an architect but hated math, I’ve always been really into home design.
- I was born in the small town of Cottonwood Arizona and lived there for the first seven months of my life.
- I’m a textural eater. I hate potatoes and tomatoes, but love french fries and ketchup.
- Working in the entertainment industry I’ve been insulted by everyone from Martha Stewart to Taylor Momsen. I just laugh because it’s funny and makes for great stories.
PS – Let me know if you’re going to LUCKYFABB. I’ll be there!
In the second installment of my “Favorite Friday”, I thought I’d jump over to the east coast and the fab blog Girl Avant Garde. This blog chronicles Courtney’s style as she goes to law school and trots around Manhattan, but also shows off her skills in the kitchen and some fun DIY’s. If you haven’t heard of it, get your head out of the clouds and then pop on by.
When and why did you start blogging?
June 2012. I needed a creative outlet and a way to express my interests outside of school.
What’s the best thing blogging has brought to your life?
I’ve made so many friends from blogging and have been introduced to many new brands and opportunities. It’s opened my eyes to a whole new world!
How do you spend your weekends?
It depends on the time of year. In the summer I love to travel or relax at the beach and poolside. In the winter, I balance time with my family & friends, studying and blogging.
What’s your favorite color right this second?
Pink! (I’m definitely a girly girl.)
It always changes. I love Kate Spade, Miu Miu and Chanel.
Who would play you in a movie?
This is so hard! I’ve always wanted to be Emma Stone’s best friend, so she gets the part.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you “grew up”?
Other than the essentials, what’s one thing you won’t leave the house without? Jewelry. I feel naked without it.
Advice to other bloggers?
Blog often and consistently. Find a style that works for you and stick with it. Also, be kind to everyone you come across.
Today I’m swapping blogs with Caitlin from A Little Dash of Darling. I am obsessed with Caitlin’s style and her blog is one of my daily bookmarks for style inspiration. Not only is this girl beautiful, but she’s got the brains too and somehow she juggles her blog, law school and a husband! Enjoy her post below and make sure to swing by her blog.
Hi Ash ‘n’ Fashn readers!! My name is Caitlin and I am a law student blogging my style, beauty tidbits, and adventures over at A Little Dash of Darling!
I am so thrilled to be guest posting today for Ashley! I just love her envious style and darling personality… (and I wouldn’t mind swapping jobs either)!! Some girls just have it all.
Ashley and I decided to put a little Spring in our step (literally) by highlighting trendy pastels! My take? I decided to pile them on mixing all of my favorite colors (mint, blush, and lavender).
My taste has always been very feminine but I would describe my style as classic with a little bit of edge. I love throwing in an unexpected piece and mixing patterns and prints… but sometimes it can be just as unexpected to stick to one color pallet (pastels) and stack up the same prints (gingham on gingham).
You can find lots of more pattern play on my blog, A Little Dash of Darling!

I love US Weekly’s “Inside Her Bag” feature they do monthly where they give us all the (edited) peak into celeb’s purses.
This is my version and here are the contents.
Marc by Marc Jacobs cross body bag
Kate Spade wallet
Calvin Klein glasses
Headband & hairtie
Eos lip balm, altoids and lifesavers
tissues, pen & hairbrush
Obviously I took out the uglier stuff, like receipts. 🙂 I like to keep a statement necklace and a lip color in my bag so I can quickly glam up my look for a meeting, happy hour or something on the fly.
Am I missing something, what’s in your bag?
