We just got back from a weekend in Paso Robles spent wine tasting! It was only a two day getaway and I managed to pack really light. I brought only the pieces above (minus the hat because I forgot it, and the boyfriend denim jacket). I wore everything I packed except for the booties and wanted to share five weekend outfits I made from this mini capsule.

This is a typical everyday outfit for me. Casual basics that are wearable, comfortable and practical. Just swap the shorts for jeans when it gets a little cooler and you have a look I wear year round.

I have to mention that these photos were taken in Jeff’s old neighborhood… where we used to take so many of my early blog photos. The alley ways were always a favorite to shoot in because of the lighting. Just wish it wasn’t trash day when we shot these. 😉

As I’ve gotten older my style has evolved… or maybe it’s a combo of that plus trends changing over time. Whatever the case, I’ve gone from wearing super trendy pieces to a lot more casual basics. My life has changed a lot too, I’m no longer going to an office everyday, instead I work for myself from home and chase a busy toddler around. Comfort and practical style is key for me right now.

I’m really loving basic t-shirts right now. I got this Madewell tee at Nordstrom Rack a few weeks ago and went back for it in white too, it’s under $20. I sized up two sizes to a medium so I could front knot it and have a more relaxed fit without stretching it out. It’s super soft and comfortable and a great everyday tee.

I’m wearing this thermal open as a cardigan like I mentioned in this post. Another Nordstrom Rack find for under $20. I’m wearing a small and it definitely has a more relaxed fit… which I love and think is perfect for cooler weather. It will also look cute worn as a top, buttoned up and tied at the bottom. Definitely a look I’ll be wearing a lot this fall and winter.

The calendar says it’s officially fall and I’m celebrating with a new leopard cardigan. I love leopard all year round, but think it’s especially perfect for fall. It’s basically a neutral that can be worn with so many colors. I’m excited to style this cardi more ways once it gets cooler. I know it will be a fun staple in my closet.

I can’t believe October is just one week away! I feel like once we get to October it’s basically non-stop til the end of the year. I’m starting to make a fall list of activities and things I want to do with Crosby and can’t wait to get started! She’s at such a fun age right now and I think she’s going to love pumpkin patches, petting zoos, farms and other things like that. Last year we took her to a pumpkin patch and it was super cute, but I know she didn’t have any clue what was going on.

Back to my outfit… I paired the cardigan with a lighter color palette here, because it’s still really warm. But it’s the perfect top layer for a chilly restaurant or store and mornings/evenings when it’s cooler. And yes, I wear white jeans (and even shorts) year round. 🙂

I’ve found a few other leopard pieces I love and want to share. This faux fur leopard bomber is from one of my favorite brands and looks especially cozy. Love this under $50 leopard clutch this cute top and these cute sneakers. They’re all great and equally versatile pieces that can be styled multiple ways.

Now that Labor Day has passed it seems like everyone is excited and ready for fall. I’m usually all about stretching out summer as long as possible – and I still plan to do that, but it can’t hurt to look ahead to some early fall trends.

When it comes to fall I feel like two prints that are always in are leopard/animal and camo. I’m loving this easy blouse, and this fun casual tee. Both would be really easy to wear and could go from day to night, or even the office. As far as camo you can never go wrong with a utility jacket.

Marigold is a really hot color right now. I’m loving this fun dress and the price is great too.

Sweaters are always a staple in my closet. This time of year I look for more open knits like this pullover. I’m also loving this loose wrap cardigan.

I always seem to buy at least one new pair of jeans in the fall because I wear them SO much. I’m loving these Levis – the length would be great on someone with shorter legs (like me).

This jumpsuit is a great way to brighten things up while sticking to more fall colors. It looks so comfortable and also comes in solid black.

Belt bags (aka fanny packs) are huge right now. This one is a more subtle option and comes in three colors, as does this one. I love this leopard print one and this shearling one is so pretty in blush.

Velvet is on my radar right now. I love this cardigan that can also be worn as a dress and this gorgeous burgundy maxi dress.

Happy Tuesday! We’re having a blast of winter weather this week, but over the weekend it was warm and amazing and I was able to wear this fun new spring top. I love the floral print and ruffle detailing and it’s currently on sale! I’m hoping this cold weather doesn’t last long because I’ve started shopping for spring and I can’t wait to wear more of my new things!

Happy Monday! I wanted to start the week with an extra bright and cheery look. On Friday we had to be out of our house all day so we drove up the coast on a little adventure. I’d walked through this candy-colored village with a friend just a few days before and knew I wanted to shoot something fun there. This sweater is equally colorful, but still stood out amongst the surroundings.
